I agree with all of this. Gardner as a QB and Denard as a RB/slot WR/whatever is a great lineup to have.

Has nothing to do with someone being biased in Denard's favor. The knee-jerk "Devin >> Denard" comments are equally hilarious.

Al Borges is obviously more comfortable calling pro-style plays from his playbook - and Devin clearly has more upside when calling those plays.

Denard clearly has more upside when running the spread. Michigan still struggles to run (the running game) pro-style plays, and interestingly enough it appears as if Devin's passing is setting up the run (where traditionally the reverse occurs). I'm willing to bet that most of that interior OL (and well, Lewan if he goes pro (pls don't go pls don't go)) will be gone next year, and the transition to pro-style offense will be nearing completion (personnel and experience and being able to open up the entire playbook). Will still be lacking experience, but most of the spread type OL will have moved on. Still have a few WRs left.

Yes, Denard can run pro-style, but not as well as Devin. Yes, Devin can run spread but not as well as Denard. That's it in a nutshell.

As a QB, I'd agree.

I watched a very minimal amount, but I saw some discussion about Michigan and how your team was running the offense. That's how I imagined it should have been the entire time - use Robinson as a weapon, but not a full-time QB. Gardner is showing well for himself.

Thanks for the input PSU guys, agree with you for the most part. If Denard can throw next week I hope we see him at QB a little less than half the time. But I'll trust the coaches with whatever they do. Go blue!

Truth is, we don't beat OSU last year without Denard, considering out defense. No BCS either then.

Give me a break. I love how the offense looked today, you never knew what formation or offensive system they were ready to run. But it amazes me how quick people forget about the major player that lead our program on the current rise.

You might want to give Denard some credit too though.

Antbody remember the Nick Sheridan era? Yea not counting Forcier that's where we were when Denard took over. They only won 7 games two years ago, but Denard literally won a lot of those single handedly. He's had some terrible games and nobody can deny that, but it's shocking to see how little respect and gratitude he receives after literally being the entire offense for the better part of the last 3 seasons.

What a previous poster (I believe it was Willy) said was right, it's possible to commend Gardner while not degrading Denard. And I don't believe the poster I quoted has done this I just think Denard deserves a little more appreciation.

Now i don't think Devin will be considered a Heisman contender to start the season next year but i think you are wrong in your post. With ND and Ohio State both being undefeated this year and both will be expected to be really good next year, that will give Devin a couple of high profile games to have Heisman moments in. We have thrown the ball quite a bit the past couple of weeks with Devin at QB and when you add up his TDs in 3 games it's quite impressive. If he throws for 20 TDs and runs for another 15 to 20, Michigan is a 1 loss or undefeated team, and Devin plays big against ND and Ohio State I could see him being in the Heisman talk.

Devin has amassed 939yds and 13 TDs in three games. These may not be great defenses but they are of the standard we'll face more weeks than not in the B1G. I like the combination of Devin and Denard we used against Iowa, wouldn't mind seeing it again. Haven't seen this much passing at UM in awhile, it's fun to watch.
