i honestly think that they are all genuinely looking for upvotes and dont care for michigan in the least. "Its an honor to play... " what a load of crap no matter what team is inserted. did you play in the game? no. its not an honor to play anyone. you want to kill your opponent. these people posting this crap are nothing more than trolls hoping for upvotes not people who care for your program or any other program other than the one or two that they are fans of

Ironic for someone that often seems to troll for downvotes.

ive never tried to troll for downvotes and if you can find a single post to where you feel like i have id be more than willing to answer for those. trust me im not in the major minority on my thoughts here. i wanted michigan to win this game for the respect of the BIG. i read things like this and what i stated is what i feel. i do not feel like the posts have been sincere. "honor to play you" what a joke. we are fans and nothing more there is no such thing as honor to play another team. i dont understand why this is a hard concept to understand

Sure, we are not actually suiting up for the games, but why is it that a fan cannot feel "honor"? If we are allowed to experience anxiety before a big game, or excitement and frustration at winning and losing - all without ever putting on a helmet - then why should things like honor or pride or humility or class be left off the table? Why do you think we all spend time on a recruiting board discussing things like bringing in "high character" kids or disciplining a player for questionable behavior?

As a Michigan alum, I feel that the football team, its coaches and its fans are all representing the university in some way. And when they do so with dignity and class, I feel pride in my school. When fans of other schools show this same kind of class, I think a word like "honor" is perfectly appropriate. This really isn't that hard to understand.

On the other hand, when fans show that they have no class - whether in winning or losing and regardless of what team they root for - well, then I suppose I could see how "honor" might seem like a joke.

there is a big difference between being honored to play another team and having pride in the team you support. im proud when my teams win in sports im never honored to play a team because i want to believe my team is better or atleast as good as the other team. if the other team is lightyears ahead of my team and im talking highschool to professional level difference then yeah i could see that being an honor because one wouldnt deserve to play with the other team.
as for the issue of class i think this should always be demonstrated. nothing makes me more irritated in sports than the lack of class fans show to eachother. ohio state and michigan are certainly not the least of these.
as stated before i have always supported michigan except in the game. however seeing harsh classless bickering between our fan bases is the one thing that has tempted me to change my stance on this issue. that wont happen however because i have to much BIG pride, and recognize or atleast choose to believe that the classless fans are the minority.
all said though i stand by my original comment of not for a second buying these fans saying its an honor to play another team. if they say it was a fun game thanks for accepting the matchup or whatever then i absolutely understand that but trying to accept compliments from the opposition of being called an honor and class act... this seems over the top to me but as always just my opinion.

  • I must agree. The fans that I was next to at the game were great. We talked and joked a little but they were never rude. I hope you all beat the crap out of Michigan State.

I must say that i just disagree with you completely on this. Bama fans are saying they basically have a lot of respect for the Michigan program and that Michigan fans were very classy. Why can't this be the case after playing one another?

  • I had a blast with the Michigan fans I was able to hang out with. Some Michigan fans gave me some crap about my Courtney Upshaw jersey and his "Southern" accent in his interview after the BCS Championship. I laughed - hell, it was funny. Great fans, respect all the way around.

Best of luck to you guys this rest of the way.

  • I had a great time and enjoyed the Michigan folks I met at my hotel. Nice people. Over the years Bama has played Penn State home and home. I think it would be great to schedule Michigan home and home!

Michigan is a good team. Maybe a year or two away from being an elite team, but I think you get there under Hoke. Hope to see you guys in the NC game in the coming years.

  • Here is an honest assesment from a Bama fan. Yeah,we kicked your ass this game but its hard not to notice you sitting on the top of this years recruiting class (rivals has you 2nd place . We finished 1st 3 out of last 4 years. Saban is a great coach but it helps to have our talent. You guys have great tradition and a very good coach so all you need is 2 or 3 top 5 classes and you will be back competing for NC's. I can actually see OSU and UM at the top again in 2014. Maybe sooner. As much as we love dominating in the SEC it helps validate who you are if you have great teams to play against. How cool would it be to have UM UA LSU and OSU in the NC final 4 in 2014?

  • Personally loved talking to the UM fans and they were very knowledable of UM and their depth chart. What surprised me was their knowledge of Bama football and our team. Overall I have had a great time meeting the Michigan fan base. No bad comments here. It was an honor to play UM.

I'll tell you my friend, I have a couple of close friends who are Bama Grads. They are GREAT PEOPLE. I am excited for our (Mich) program and the future. Sure, the loss is tough on one's psychic, especially when one is competitive. But I loved the game because I saw once again where we will be.

Now, all I ask is hopefully you all will kick the living $H!T outta auburn. There are many rea$ons as to why, but I will leave it at that.

It is not reciprocal in C-Bus. I remember hearing from a Mich grad on the C-Bus police force. He was clear, it is NOT SAFE for Mich fans visiting C-Bus on football Saturday's. He mentioned where one family was told by a C-Bus Officer, "you're alive aren't ya, just leave town while you still can". I remember when it was not unusual for cars with Mich plates rolled over and or set on fire, always after a Mich win.

C-Bus is not a safe place for anyone with Mich plates, anytime!

is this the first time you heard about this? this has been going on forever over their. they will pop all your tires, break your windows, scratch your car if it has a michigan plate. they will throw food and beer at you and if they have a chance they will jump you. they have no morals. they are inbred hillbilly's. They take football to seriously. they will sell their family for an ohio win.

  • I've heard some vague stories, but this type of confirmation makes me want to go to a game down there with some real ballers. Maybe I'll rent a car to take down there and make sure I purchase the biggest insurance package on the car.

I would never destroy someone's property or harm someone over football. They go way too far. complete meat heads. lots of loose screws. you have to go strapped
