Freshman Height/Weight

Why? RVB was only at 288 last year for DT, Black will probably be around 280ish by the time the ball is snapped in Dallas. Black has very good athleticism and will BWC taking up double teams, he should be able to rush the passer or at least press the pocket on every down.

Where you getting your numbers from a weigh in last august. He played at 295.

And black is going to gain weight in fall conditioning? I don't think so. 275 is slight for a tackle.

Only if his shoulder is 100% healed.

I wonder if he has some "bad" weight on him because of his recovery process.

I would imagine he has a little bit. I think a redshirt is in his best interests - Chesson looks like he could step in and contribute, and unless we absolutely need another WR on the field, I'd rather Darboh take a year to heal up and get in excellent shape.

X2 or any other Big Ten back for that matter. Roundtree would bull him over at that size.

Yeah its crazy to see him being anywhere near ready in the next two years

    DE Chris Wormley, 6-4, 268

    So Wormley is 6'4"?

    That's disappointing.

IIRC, he said in an interview that he was closer to 6'6".

I'm almost relieved, he must cited as 6'8" a couple of times. I was afraid of Pat Massey 2.0

Strobel is 6'6" and they look Exactly the same in that pick next to each other. Plus if he is only six four he may fit that 3 tech spot perfectly. I truly believe Strobel is our future at sde.

I think Wormley projects higher at sde. I think he is much more athletic than Strobel.

People will argue until he settles in somewhere. Strobel had a better summer though and a few analysts have stated that wormley may start at sde but ultimately move inside. So that has been my opinion, but we won't know for another two years really.
Wormley may be the most ready to play right now though.

  • Wormley looks to be more boom or bust. All the athletic ability in the world, but he needs work.

Strobel is much more refined in his technique at this point

Why? Chances are that Wormley will eventually move inside to DT and the taller a DT is, the harder it becomes to play low and maintain proper pad level. 6'4"-6'5" is about the limit you want your DTs to be.

You keep saying Strobel had a better summer. What do you mean? Neither one enrolled early. They just got to campus.

I really hope Wormley stays at end. I think he is going to be a great player at Michigan.

I don't care where Wormley ends up, he'll be a beast either way.

    Amara Darboh - 6-foot-2, and a whopping 218 pounds (!) Terry Richardson a bit on the slight side - 5-foot-9, 154 pounds (!) Tight end A.J. Williams - 6-foot-6, 282 pounds Ondre Pipkins - 6-foot-3, 337 pounds Kyle Kalis - 6-foot-5, 292 Willie Henry - 6-foot-2, 302-pounds

Willie Henry has put on like 25 pounds if i remember correctly. Anyone know if that is good or bad weight? If he can still move the way he did with the added weight we may have found us a heckuva player to line up next to Pipkins in the future.

True. I just have visions of him being a nightmare for college tackles the way Reggie White was for NFL tackles. Before everyone attacks me no I am not comparing him to Reggie White lol

  • Strobel is the prototype SDE... Big, strong, tough and mean as hell... He and Godin are going to draw a lot of flags for OL... Those 2 love to mix it up and seem to have a DL mentality... Love that they are some big bodies too... The DL measurables look pretty ideal for true frosh

It's the talk from within the program. The guys that took to what they were suppose to be doing with drill, assignments and offseason workouts were Strobel and Henry. I was hoping to hear of pipkins but it was willie.

  • Is Godin starting out at sde or moving inside to DT/3-tech?

sounds like some Ace Will talk. Each player was given a strength and agility program. I haven't heard anyone who's summer was better than anyone else. You won't know until fall practice starts, right now its all weight room and from all I've heard every incoming Dlineman is progressing.

BTW lugs seniors hold informal practices that coaches can only watch. So no its not weightlifting alone by any stretch. Most of the guys living close participated all summer
