I just always was. My dad and uncle were die hard Michigan fans and alums, so I was too. I don't think, even as a kid, I was ever just a casual Michigan fan.

I had always been a Michigan fan because some of my family members were, but once I attended a game back in 2008 (Not the greatest year to start attending games) I was addicted to everything Michigan. Growing up I always wanted to go to Michigan, so if I get accepted this fall I will have a hard time turning them down.

First memory is of Butch Woolfolk. Was around during Bo, during the transition to Mo. I wasn't necessarily of age, but I was on this earth .

Thoroughly enjoyed watching Jamie Morris. I recall watching that...that Penn State vs Michigan game when "the hit" occurred. Was watching it with my friend Carlos Brown live. It was one of the first few plays of the game I recall - and I remember Los jumping up and saying "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" Never knew what happened until years later (the severity of the injury) but I was SO PUMPED by how they knocked each other out of the game.

I remember watching David Boston vs Charles Woodson; when Boston did get Woodson that one time and I *think* he turned around on his way into the end zone. Got flagged for taunting. Dude was HEEE YOUUUUUUGE. Yes, PED yes, but before I knew that was the case I was astounded by how big and fast he was.

I remember Michigan vs Washington when Washington had Steve Emtman (spelling), the DL. I certainly remember vs Washington State and Ryan Leaf. Also that year I recall arguing with people that there's no way Michigan should have split that championship with Nebraska; I used common opponents to validate my argument.

Most vivid memory? I won't get the year right, but it must have been 1991/1992. I was in college. Watching the game live on television. Versus Notre Dame. Do I need to say what happened? Not Desmond Howard (I saw that live; no way I thought he was catching that). Rocket Ismail. Kickoff return. Not one.

Two. Touchdown.

Arguing with a coworker at Booz Allen who was Italian (ND fan). GREAT guy. Ended up having some really in-depth discussions regarding race and prejudice; I'm Jamaican and was astonished upon hearing that he too experienced prejudice in America.

Walter Cross coming out of Oxon Hill. I graduated from Bishop McNamara (Damian Prince); actually was classmates with Tyoka Jackson (Penn State alum; played DT for Packers and Bucs, resides in FL now I believe). If any of you ever see him, ask him about Mr. Homayouni (HO my YOU knee). He was our Indian math teacher who mispronounced everyone's names; he'd call Tyoka "Toyota" - and told him next time he'd call him "Nissan." At any rate, Mark Williams was in my class as well. There was a nice little recruiting battle between Michigan and tOSU for Mark Williams; he was All-Met - they called him "Ice." Big, fast. I kept pushing him to go to Michigan of course. He was seriously considering it....but missed a phone call from Coach Carr. Coach Carr told him, quote, "if you were that interested in coming to Michigan, you'd have been home for that phone call". I was, as they say in Maryland, "blown" by that approach. He went to tOSU and I told him I was going to curse him by guaranteeing Michigan would NOT lose to tOSU from 1989 - 1992.

I can't remember, but I'm pretty damn sure they didn't lose to tOSU those four years lol.

When I got the rejection letter in the mail from admissions haha. My comeback to ppl who hate on me cause I'm not alum is "hey neither you nor I were in the military but I still support the hell out of those guys!"

When I was 8 my neighbor took me to the national championship parade. Froze my ass off to!! He raised me to be a Michigan fan along with my dad(who eventually switched to OSU ).

Nowadays I have convinced my girl to convert to Michigan even though her cousin played hoops at MSU

These stories have been great to read. I loved ducksworth post and I can really relate to awink. Each story is unique but we all do have that bond. It seems fairly ubiquitous in that no matter when or where you found the wolverines, that feeling encompassed all of us. That's why I love sharing my Passion with everyone on this board. I've thought about that as well. When we had two losses, the world was collapsing around me. These new guys get some credit for an almost sisyphean type climb and fall that happened over the last few years. You kept thinking we were getting better, but reality would send you back to the bottom of the hill. Much love to the new guys!

While I appreciate your candor in the the matter, I'm not sure your story follows that ubiquitous association of feeling the rest of us had lol. But a great story none the less....

That's a very interesting story. We've obviously all heard of players that "crossed over" - Marcus Ray, Desmond Howard, Craig Krenzel, Justin Boren (twice), etc. But I hadn't heard of many fans that have crossed over. In a way, that's even more impressive, because you had every reason to NOT be a Michigan fan, yet you became one anyway. I think that's pretty cool.
