He was scheduled to fly out with the team but missed the team flight and if he was leaving the program he would have stayed home in Indiana since he was just there for the holidays. I could be wrong but everything I have seen to this point says Rod loves OSU and has no plans of leaving.

RT @BCastOZone: Ohio State RB Rod Smith did NOT make the trip to Jacksonville. Missed the team charter to Florida and is back in Ohio.SimplyComplex

I heard rumblings on several msg boards. It sounds like it was just rumor though. Rod did in fact miss his flight like you said. He is now with the team in Florida. I was surprised as you about the transfer rumors, since I always thought he was having a good time in Columbus. If Rod stays I think OSU has just as good a shot as anyone at landing Jaylon. Some on Bucknuts are convinced Marshall, Smith, and Burrows will be early Buckeye verbals. I'd love to start our class like that, but seems more like wishfull thinking than reality.

It is unlikely b/c of the Big Ten intra-conference transfer rule. Basically a player who transfers from one Big Ten school to another Big Ten school would have to pay his own way.
I think a few years ago, you had a LB (IIRC Kerr) from Indiana who paid his way to play for the Buckeyes.

I saw the posts suggesting that, but I don't think that is the case. The players don't all travel together to the game. They are given a certain amount of money and told when and where they have to be. Most players get the cheapest travel they can and pocket the rest of the money (NCAA says it's OK to do this). They do travel back to Columbus together though. Not sure if this is how all teams operate, but I know OSU and several others do.

Where have you seen this at? I havent heard one thing about this. Rod missed his flight, nothing more. Rod loves OSU, he even offered to move to LB halfway through the season. I cant see him transfering, he hasnt said one thing about PT, He just wants to help the team. Even if Rod did transfer, Jaylon would probably go to ND.
