  • This kid is great, but everything I have heard of him is that he is a huge Buckeye lean. Am I wrong?

  • Good to know he is keeping an open mind. Would love to happen, but you only have to spend a half second on Bucknuts before you read that he's "all buckeye."

Ohio State will indeed be a player for Smith, however he's never told me that they're the leader.

I've talked to Jaylon several times and believe he's genuinely interested in hearing from other schools including Michigan. I wouldn't be surprised if he visited Ann Arbor for a junior day if his basketball schedule allowed it.

Right now I think Ohio State and Notre Dame are out in front, but he's excited to hear from other schools and consider future offers.

Yeah but not getting in early is usually something that hinders your success with a recruit. It's better to show interest early and often to show them that you want them.

He said they are showing interest i just think they are waiting to offer him because of grades. I'm sure they will offer him at Junior day

  • Well, if he is in play...awesome. This kid is a baller. And him coming out saying he is interested...yup, time to play the Mattison card, and soon.

Here's to hoping he camps a lot this summer at places he will run into Shane Morris.

  • He is a Buckeye to loose. Like Whiskers said, his brother Rod will be a sophmore next year at OSU and has been to campus quit a few times. Already has an offer from OSU. Move on, you got about the chances of a hope and a prayer for this kid.

yep. brothers always go to the same school. See Peyton Manning's remarkable career at Ole Miss.

You have a trollface as your avatar, refer Michigan as MeatChicken, and are a buckeye fan. I'm sure everyone will take you seriously.

Kids say they want offers all the time doesn't mean they will actually go there. Kyle Dodson, Alex Kozan begged for an OSU offer before they got them, did that mean they committed to OSU.

Oh you brought up the Mannings, well lets see MgoPhilly. By the time Eli was going to College Peyton was in the NFL. Also ELI went to his Fathers Alma Mater. Yes brothers do tend to play together. See Evan Goodman who choose ASU over schools like OSU, FLA, Auburn and more.

Weather you like it or not unless something changes for his Brother, OSU is his most likely destination.

Does having an older brother help Ohio? It obviously doesn't hurt. Every major program will be after him. From what he says, it appears that he is going to do whats in his best interest.

It seems like now a days, any recruit with even the most tenuous relationship with the state of Ohio is automatically a "lifelong buckeye fan" or guaranteed commit.
