First QB offer soon to go out?

Can you imagine if Shane sits behind Gardner and then Cornwell beats him out in 2015? Lots of people would be so pissed

That would be hard for anybody to be the backup with that much talent. But it would be a good problem to have I think, as long as it's no Henson/Brady snafu.

Exactly. They'll be only one year apart (Assuming they both RS, which hopefully they will) so it'll be weird seeing someone that talented sitting on the bench for so long

Some QB's thrive in that situation, some crumble. Better to test their nerve in a Spring Competition than wait and see in the Championship.

Guys this happens all the time with big time programs. I know its been awhile but you guys are back and this is what the big boys do. only about 30 % of these top rated QBs ever pan out to the level we expect them 2. IMO Carnwell looks like a great prospect. Not many guys his size move that well and the best thing is that hes not even a DT QB, he is a mobile pocket passer. He has a great arm and can throw on the run. Needs to work on his release and compact his throwing motion but I would take Carnwell over Morris JMO. Good thing for UM is they can possibly have booth.

Are you implying Michigan isn't a big time program? Regardless, Michigan has experience with having talented QBs backing each other up, it was normal for like 20 years before Rich Rod, and even under Rich Rod there were some talented QBs.

My point is that this is what Michigan should expect every year.

For a team that had to start Joe Bauserman for half a season because there was no QB-in-waiting after Pryor, you talk a mighty big game.

When is the last time OSU recruited two top 50 QBs in consecutive years?

Not in a long time but I can assure you that Urban's goal is to sign the top DT QB in the country every year.

I am giving UM credit. IMO it is the type of program that should be able to and expect to sign an elite QB every year. As to your JB comment that was like watching a train wreck in slowmo but thankfully we have a new sheriff in town and I can assure you that wont happen on his watch.

Yup. Hell, even under Rich Rod we signed Forcier, Robinson, and Gardner in the span of two recruiting classes.

I just don't understand how, after signing two QBs the year before him, that staff still managed to burn Gardner's redshirt. facepalm_msu
