I agree that Michigan has traditionally been known for great defenses complemented by good offenses.

However, Michigan needs to recognize the changing landscape of college football. Hiring a young, innovative up-and-comer who can adapt to his players will go a long way toward giving Michigan both.

We don't need to be flashy on offense. However, we need to have consistent, competent, reliable offenses.

I loved Harbaugh's TE-predicated offense at Stanford. It would've been even better if it would've had a bona fide stud at WR.

Our players deserve criticism as well. However, let's not f-ing look past the part that Al's play calls put our players in tough situations which could not be salvaged.

A number of the turnovers that Denard had in the Notre Dame game was because of ND's pressure from the front 7. Borges could've used roll-outs, counters, traps, etc. to alleviate that. He didn't. Hence, Denard tried to do the best he could but ended up making mistakes.

No. I can't defend what he did. I never said I was defending him. I only said that you all are overreacting. They played a hell of a game vs an undefeated OSU team at the shoe.

I can tell you have I have a lot better Michigan teams lose to lesser OSU teams at the shoe.

Frankly, if they were going to rush the QB the way they did in the second half, why not a screen pass away from Denard?

Of course Denard would try to take the heat off his coach, but don't kid yourself, you had no chance on that play whatsoever.

That firsr third down ay should have gone to denard. That was the first bad call. Then it just went down hill. Deveinbwas so poised, he made his short passes look effortless in the first half. In the second, no rollouts, no short passes, no screens, NOTHiNG.
What in the heck was he thinking? Oh, run it up the middle with smith? Go yourself borgess. Im not over reacting when you literally handed the game away.

Lining Denard up in a modified wildcat when we've been stretching the field with downfield passes worked great in the first half. Lining up the same play on 3rd-and-short is borderline lunacy. Doing it multiple times is the definition of insanity.

I am rarely this frustrated at the offensive playcalling, but seriously - even if it doesn't work the first couple times, just line up the same play and run a goddamn play action with Gardner.

After this game (and season), I believe there are much better Offensive Coordinators out there than Borges. But with this staff, they will not let him go. That is not their mentality... and they will give him a few more seasons to still prove himself. What's frustrating is that we will have to go through this, season after season knowing that even when we do have great offensive players (from our great recruiting), it won't mean we will win the game because the guy calling the plays can be a total _____.
