Florida really screwed that one up. They didn't make a shot for the last 8 minutes. I agree, they're overrated. Losing to NIT bound Kentucky.. lol

If Florida is (grossly) overrated, then how is beating Florida at home one of the most "impressive" wins of the 2013 season?

I can understand beating the Gators in Gainesville where the Gators play really well. But this Florida team has lost to a number of mediocre SEC teams on the road...

I read and understood your post just fine. I parenthetically added "grossly" to indicate my opinion.

I responded to your post because your reasoning is suspect.

Florida has 6 losses this year - all on the road.

In fact, over the past 6 weeks (so since the start of February) Florida has played 5 conference road games and lost 4 of them. And none of those teams are locks to get into the NCAAT.

Moreover, Billy Donovan has not won at Rupp Arena since Calipari became Head Coach of Kentucky basketball. In other words, a loss at Rupp arena was not only possible but actually expected. Hence, Kentucky's much needed win over a struggling Florida team is actually not that impressive.

Lastly, Kentucky's win over a struggling Florida team doesn't guarantee the Wildcats a tournament spot. They are currently on the cusp. Kentucky probably needs to win at least one tournament game.

Thank God that Penn St beat NW the other day. That lone agonizing W for them was going to drive me crazy.

This Creighton vs Wichita St game needs to hurry up. I'm gonna be pissed if I miss the tip off.

Ultimately, this Michigan has no one to blame but itself for not winning the B1G regular season title.

I can understand Wisky hitting a ridiculously lucky 3 to force overtime. But the epic collapse to a winless Penn State team is indefensible.

But to choke away a lead at the line in the final minute at home to f-ing Indiana is equally inexcusable. I understand that if the refs had made the right call then Michigan is celebrating a second straight B1G regular season title.

Overcoming bad (non)calls is part of the game.

I can only hope that this Michigan team will redeem itself in the NCAAT.

I can't wait to get to the NCAATourney. The refs that ref the big ten are just terrible and incompetent for all the Big Ten teams.

I downvoted your post because it's clear to me that you don't understand what is considered an intentional foul.

Pushing a player that is airborne or about to be airborne is considered an intentional foul. Similarly, grabbing a player's jersey to keep him from getting away is considered an intentional foul.

Watford took a swipe at the ball and then pushed Robinson when Robinson went airborne. That's an intentional foul.

I participate on a lot of sports board. And pretty much everyone agreed that it was a clear cut case of an intentional foul.

The refs simply didn't have the balls to call it because it would've essentially sealed the game for Michigan.

However, I'm not dwelling on the missed call. This Michigan team had a chance to win this game at the FT line. Hence, I put the blame on our leaders - Burke and Hardaway - for missing the front end of 1-and-1s.

In short, you'll have to excuse me for dismissing the line that suggests I'm being a sore loser.

Our guys had a chance to ice this game. We didn't. That's on us.

I don't care what happens in the NBA. Horrible, head-scratching (non)calls are part of the pros. Hence, fans frequently accuse refs of showing favoritism to large market teams or privileging superstars.

That call exists to protect the offensive player. When a player goes airborne, he has a trajectory. If a defender alters or disrupts that trajectory, then the offensive player loses balance, lands awkwardly, and sometimes suffers an injury.

What Watford did is a textbook example of an intentional foul. I know that refs are reluctant to call it and that needs to be changed. If a severe foul was committed, it should be called regardless of the circumstances.

And again, I put the blame on our leaders and not the refs. However, in my mind it was a big missed call. If I was Coach Beilein, I would send that clip to the B1G offices for review.
