OSU beat Sparty! This is good for our chances at a B1G title.

We still need to win out AND we need IU to lose again before our game.

Yeah. I'm going to be rooting HARD for Minnesota to beat Indiana. That is pretty much are only hope, no way Ohio St or Iowa win @Bloomington.

If Wiscy can win @Bloomington, so can OSU. I understand IU is playing at a different level right now, but it only takes one game. OSU looked pretty damn good tonight and hopefully (strange to say) they keep this positive momentum and go take down Indiana. Could you imagine Indiana coming to the Crisler Center with the B1G championship/revenge/top-seed on the line? That place would be HYPED.

I am praying that it happens. Would be really cool.

  • Where would you rank Crisler Arena on game day for an important game. I don't know if its just the TV angles but they seem weak compared to Sparty and IU

Looks like the place wasn't built for noise and the student section is small compared to others.

Very low. In terms of hostile environments in the B1G I'd rank them like such:

    1. IU - Assembly Hall
    2. Wisconsin - Kohl Center
    3. MSU - Breslin Center
    4. OSU - The Schott
    5. Minnesota - The Barn

Those places are always tough to play at and seem to get some nice home cooking. The next group of schools is really dependent on how good the team is and who they're playing. Michigan has been a real great environment this year, especially against top teams, but this certainly wasn't the case 4 years ago. Same goes with Illinois, Assembly Hall can be really tough to play at when UofI has a great team - but the fans can go quiet when they're not so good.

    6. Illinois - Assembly Hall
    7. Michigan - Chrisler Center
    8. Purdue - Mackey Arena
    9. Iowa - Carver-Hawkeye
    10. Northwestern - Welsh-Ryan
11-12. PSU and Nebraska - umm yea...

    Big Ten teams in AP poll: #Indiana (1), #Michigan (4), #MSU (9), #OhioSt. (16), #Wisconsin (17).

To be fair, when's the last time MSU have been bad at basketball? MSU hasn't had a losing Big Ten record in 20 years. Give them 5 years in the tank and people would lose interest, too.

PSU is a distant 12th they barely have 6000 in the crowd for a game

  • I will never forget tonight because of how the refs screwed Iowa State at home in the final minute of regulation against Kansas.

In particular, there were 3 indefensible mistakes. The refs need to be reviewed.

Yea that was ridiculous. The blown charge call was one thing - I usually don't mind when refs swallow their whistle at the end of games. But then to call a hold on the floor to give Kansas 2 free throws was mind-boggling! There was nothing but incidental contact there. I thought for sure the ref was calling a travel on the Kansas player flopping along the floor trying to pass the ball.

Absolutely horrific refereeing that put Kansas into overtime when they had no business being so.

  • Side note on this game, Zeller isn't playing very well at all. Hes got some talent, but not enough where he can afford to play as soft as he does. Just my personal opinion, but I don't see him projecting that highly at the next level. He'll be a high to mid lottery pick based on potential but he seems like a guy who will have to develop a better perimeter game. His post game as is wont have much success in the pros.

He's got like 9 points, 4 fouls, and a bunch of turnovers. Not impressed.

  • This upset should give Burke a much needed boost for the Wooden Award.

People were allllll over the IU/Oladipo bandwagon. Hopefully that dies down a bit, because it's clear Burke deserves it this year.
