Well, I'd say it's not Chris Peterson, but he's far and away the best non-BCS coach. Two other top candidates would've been Malzahn and Gary Andersen, but both of them already took jobs. The Northern Illinois coach bolted, right?
So that would leave a guy like June Jones from SMU who has NFL experience? Or George O'Leary since it's now long enough past his Notre Dame hiring gaffe that nobody cares anymore? There are other names, but those would be the two I'd guess.
