Wouldn't buy into the notion that Martinez has turned things around after one game. He was terrible against the Ohio defense and played against a bad Northwestern defense coming off of a bye-week. People were saying similar things following his week-one performance against Southern Miss. The primary concern is us playing on the road following the emotional win over MSU.

It would be nice to see Jake Ryan with a couple of forced fumbles this game.

Abdullah has impressed me a lot. I remember watching him earlier this year, and saying to my son "that dude runs like a raped ape." He laughed.

I'd say this is spot on.

You look at our two losses, UCLA and Ohio State, and one thing is clear: The Huskers hurt themselves far more than anything our opponent did.

Consider the Ohio State game. Nebraska turned the ball over four times, including three interceptions.

As far as I'm concerned -- It's a good matchup on paper. Just a matter of what Nebraska team shows up on Saturday night.

2. do you feel good about your defense against denard? prediction on denards stats?
3. what position is your weakness on defense?
4. what do you think nebraska's game plan on offense is going to be against UM?

I would say that it has more to do with our ability to stop the pass.

I don't know what stats you're looking at but I see that those stats show Denard is clearly better. Duh.

But our passing d was #3 in the country before last week. We're pretty strong in the back 7.

1. I see a Nebraska win. I'm happy to accept the label as a homer. But I genuinely believe that we'll come out on top, so long as we can limit our turnovers. At home, we're a slightly more disciplined team. Granted -- That's not saying much. I'll go Nebraska, 35-31.

2. No, I don't feel good about our defense against Denard. In the same way Martinez was our offense against NW, I suspect DR will do the same against us. The only difference being that I expect DR to do the majority of his damage on the ground, rather than through the air.

Prediction: 13/25 -- 165 Yards -- 2TD -- 2INT, 18 Rushes -- 185 Yards -- 2TD

3. Defensive Line. Depth was such an issue this past weekend that our noted DE, Cam Meredith, moved inside to DT for the bulk of the game. Seriously scares me how thin we were this past weekend.

4. I can't answer this yet. I'll have to check out one of Michigan's past games. I would've loved to have seen the UM/MSU game, but I don't get BTN. Damn shame that rivalry was relegated to BTN broadcast.

I must say -- I had no idea the passing defense was that stout. Is it more man or zone? Nebraska is big on the short and intermediate routes. Man to man would be the best way to stuff our outside receivers, but creates serious mismatch issues with our tight ends.
