Dunn to OSU

lol exactly. Whenever anything goes wrong with MSU (football or basketball, recruit decommit, etc) I highly recommend going over to tRCMB. Their meltdowns are second to none.

Wow, I had no idea, thanks for the info! On my way over now! lol

I just hope that as our board grows in population we keep this kind of idiocy from polluting our comments, regardless of VIP status. Having mature discussions about potential recruits is one thing, degrading them when they scorn you is another.

  • Well that sucks for us. Good Luck to the young man, as echoed, hope he has a great career except against us in November and of course the B1GCCG

That's because they've won something significant in their fan bases lifetime. Last time Michigan State won anything of consequence was in 1988. Since then Nebraska, Michigan and Ohio State have won National Titles and BCS Bowls. I'm not trying to mock Michigan State that's just reality for them. The fringe idiots get louder as the years of insignificance roll on.

    Good luck in the spread

Don't think a spread means that thing that rich rod had, there will be a power element to it. Get ready to be run past, run around and run over.

I don't know about over...real interested in watching the Spring Game to see how they use him.

Exactly. And I know I would be extremely unhappy if Urbie was able to flip Kalis back to the dark side (knock on wood), but it would be nothing close to what is going on in Spartyland.

We heard Urban called but Kalis but he said thanks but no thanks so i dont think you will have to worry about that.

I'm a die-hard Buckeye fan but I completely agree with you. Both sides, OSU and University of Michigan can get a little testy on these boards but on the Dunn topic, it's been pretty civilized, Nice job Blue...

I think that the civilized part between OSU and Michigan will break down if Dymonte even takes a visit to OSU.

He has been very vocal in his anti-OSU. Michigan fans have really liked seeing that when factoring in your recent revival.

Absolutely agree. Dunn was always committed to OSU, so Michigan, and the fans, were playing with House money. We got our hopes up, but most had lowered expectations because he always said he was still committed to OSU. I think the same is true if you do land Jordan Diamond because most Michigan fans would like him, but have seen it drag out so long it wouldn't be a huge shock.

If Dymonte or Kalis or Strobel or Bolden or any other committed prospect flips from Michigan to OSU, the posts will be A LOT worse. Hopefully not to the level of the Pittman meltdown, but I'd guess it would get ugly.

The Pittman meltdown over at rCMB was terrible. Posts about killing people, hoping pittman dies or his legs get broken, hoping his whole family gets into a car accident, etc. I've never seen anything so crazy on an internet message board about sports.

i agree it was honestly just sad. I am DIE HARD but if you are wishing death upon a kid as he tries to take the right direction, whether it be to your school or another, then i honestly feel sad for what your life must be like.

The craziest thing I saw were the threads when Justin Boren transferred to OSU. A lot of venom spewed in those threads... don't think they got close to the Pittman stuff in terms of wishing death upon people, but I am pretty sure I read some people wishing injuries on him which was pretty embarrassing.

I agree that was a bit over the top, but it was a different situation. Boren took some very cheap shots at RR and Michigan on his way out the door. You didn't hear anything close to the same stuff toward the other players who transferred out (and there were plenty). Boren was a very specific case and he brought some of the venom on himself.

Very true... I had blocked that part out of memory, but now that you mention it I remember some of the negative comments about Kurt Wermers leaving were sparked by the statements he made while walking out the door. Same with Toney Clemons, etc. Don't recall it getting too nasty for the kids who left quietly or at least saying the right things publicly.

Boren put out a public statement saying he was leaving due to the "lack of family values" under RR. He then wore an outfit mocking RR as a Halloween costume. Not saying that should let fans off the hook for wishing him injuries or anything like that, but it's also not like he was innocent. He stoked the flames. He certainly was no Brionte Dunn.

  • There's no need to worry about Thomas. He's all blue.

If a OSU fan tells you otherwise, they're a joke.

  • Don't want to keep beating a dead horse, especially since you have to respect the young man for his decision, but I found this on another site and thought it was interesting:

    @kmeinke Kyle Meinke
RT @elevenwarriors: B Dunn: "[Meyer] told me I didn’t have to worry about sanctions. Nothing worse is going to happen."

I'm sure most on here have seen this already but I just wanted to get the reaction. IF it's true, does Meyer know something the rest of the nation doesn't, or is he lying to reel in as many guys as possible before something is handed down?!?! I know people have questioned his character with recruiting in the past so I wouldn't put anything past him. Could be interesting what transpires IF there are sanctions coming....especially if Meyer has told this to more than just one recruit.

If this is true and the sanctions come, Urban just destroyed a few pipelines at least in Ohio.

I'm sure he did tell him that. Because everyone who has looked over every precedent and the ohio state situation has said that there will be no more sanctions coming. The only way there would be more sanctions would be if the NCAA steps out of line with everything they've every done.

You're reading too far into the quote.

i agree i dont see anyway he flips. If Urban read twitter he probably would have already known there was no chance and never offered. Dymonte is a good prospect and we were way way to slow.

I saw this earlier. Obviously, there are two choices here:

    1. Urban really does know something, in which case the NCAA looks like a bunch of liars telling the public they are simply 'reviewing the situation', when in fact they are discussing with OSU about where to go with the sanctions. In this case, OSU basically gets off scott free.

    2. Urban is spinning, has no clue what is going on and OSU just assumes everything is a-ok...sanctions come down, and all hell breaks loose.
