Dunn to OSU

  • Disappointing, but not surprising. When you grow up a fan of a team, it's tough to go somewhere else. He always seemed like he wanted to stay with Ohio. Good luck to him. The silver lining is this could help us with Isaac next year. That guy is the real deal.

I was completely wrong on this.

It's all Corch Urbs' fault, IMO.

    So ?, what 's your point ?

He kept a kid committed nothing special.

Exactly, he gets Pittman to flip which everybody knew that kid was going to. He gets Schutt to come aboard after Michigan and Notre Dame passed on him. So basically Meyer got two kids looking for somewhere to land and a kid that was ALREADY COMMITTED! WOW, great work! Brady Hoke will be the better of the two! Go Blue!

No matter how much you try to "marginalize" what just happened (w/OSU recruiting)- it has been quite the turnaround...
BTW- first time on the Michigan board... I'm impressed with the level of class the posters have shown Brionte Dunn. I'm sure it was a difficult choice for him- and most people on this board seem to be providing the kid with continued support.... Quite classy.

Ha ha!! Delusional thinking at it's best!

what are you talking about? We wished him good luck on his career and said it wasn't a huge deal because he was already committed to OSU. Taking a RB in this class would be a luxury not a need

It's really confusing because Reeves said they only want 1 more CB and Chesson said they only want 1 more WR. So outside of TE, WR, OL, and CB, I have no idea where the fifth schollie will go. Unless we save it for next year or go after another RB.

Not sure that's what Reeves said. The way I read it is that he said they "could be" done at CB with him. That might simply have been the coaches leaving room for Dunn until he made his final decision. Now that he's not coming to AA, they have another scholly to use and I don't think it's out of the question to think they would continue to pursue Wright. Or, in some crazy, Karmac, perfect world, the coaches would make a run at Noah Spence and the unintended consequence of Urbie locking down Dunn would be us getting another amazing piece for our DL. I can dream, can't I?

This isn't Bucknuts or tRCMB, when a 17 year old kid makes a decision that is best for him the only thing you can do is wish him the best and move on. It's unreal the lows some people will stoop to demeaning a kid who changes his mind.

I just hope that other schools will take note, and treat the recruits they miss out on similarly.

I am not holding my breath.

I just hope that as our board grows in population we keep this kind of idiocy from polluting our comments, regardless of VIP status. Having mature discussions about potential recruits is one thing, degrading them when they scorn you is another.

Some of the Sparty fans have absolutely lost it. I'm honestly waiting to hear that someone has gone into a McDonald's in EL with an assault weapon and started shooting things up. Pittman's flip has put them over the edge.

lol i know i am waiting for the news feed of one of them shooting up a post office. I am a DIE HARD fan but i can not even imagine uttering something like that about a 17 or 18 year old kid. I was down when Kalis switched (god knows we need O-lineman like we need Oxygen) but the words they wrote never crossed my mind as a quick thought.

lol exactly. Whenever anything goes wrong with MSU (football or basketball, recruit decommit, etc) I highly recommend going over to tRCMB. Their meltdowns are second to none.

I've never seen anything like it. They went into Armageddon mode over there. It was funny but kinda sad at the same time. They don't get many 4-5* guys.

BTW, good luck to you guys in your bowl vs VTech. I root for all B1G teams to represent the conference.

See, it is possible to have an intelligent conversation between a Buckeye & a Wolverine. It's rare, but it does happen. :-)

This is like the Bizzaro World or something. Dunn reaffirms and we have Buckeye and Wolverine fans treating each other better than normal?!

Too bad on us missing out on Dunn, but he clearly was struggling with the decision, so good for him to make it and move on. He wanted to be a Buckeye and likely would've regretted it at some point if he flipped, so can't fault him for sticking with his first choice.

Exactly. And I know I would be extremely unhappy if Urbie was able to flip Kalis back to the dark side (knock on wood), but it would be nothing close to what is going on in Spartyland.

Being unhappy is one thing...I am not happy Dunn committed to OSU.

Being asinine and wishing injury on a kid...that is a whole different level of insane.

I'm a die-hard Buckeye fan but I completely agree with you. Both sides, OSU and University of Michigan can get a little testy on these boards but on the Dunn topic, it's been pretty civilized, Nice job Blue...
