I thought exactly the same thing, but if the story about Urbie visiting him at home Tuesday night is true, the timing sort of fits. First, why visit him so quickly after his OV if not for a specific purpose? Second, he is going to be an EE, so it's not like he can delay the decision much longer anyway. And, third, I think we go into a dead period in a week or so, which prevents coaches from pestering kids while they are at home over the holidays. If Urbie has a backup RB in mind, he might want to be able to reach out to him or even get him in for an OV before the dead period hits. But I don't have any first-hand knowledge. I was just reading through some of the threads on Bucknuts trying to get a handle on how all of their OVs went this weekend. I figure the Dunn situation will play itself out, one way or the other, within the next week.

No different then what Flinstone did to Brown when he got his offered pulled for taking an official visit. Stop complaining about doing the same thing your own school does. Meyer(no tOSU fan will ever say scUM as short hand for him) is going to his house to talk to him. He may say that if you take this visit I will not be able to count you as a commit and open the scholarship back up. So what. Meyer is only doing what Dunn is doing. Dunn has already basically de-committed from tOSU or he wouldn't be doing what he is doing. Meyer has every right to tell him that he will get counted as a commitment if he reaffirms it or his scholarship will open back up to him if you does choose to reaffirm or anyone else that chooses to come to tOSU. Dunn has no right to sit on it like he is doing nor does Meyer owe it to him to let him keep it.
Its bullshit to think that Dunn even says he is committed to tOSU. Its laughable at best.
We may win We may lose But we always bleed Maize and Blue HAIL!!!!!

Unfortunately, I agree with you on all points. I really don't like that Michigan fans are using "UM" as short-hand for Urban Meyer.
And no head coach is going to strong-arm a recruit in front of their parents. Well, maybe Charlie Weis would, but that's a different story. These coaches are all pro's on the recruiting trail and know how to balance that push with not coming off too strong. Meyer will lay it out for Dunn and try to get him to cancel the visit, but will never give an ultimatum saying he's pulling the offer if Dunn doesn't re-commit.
I'm sure that's how the conversation played out with Hoke and Pharaoh Brown too. They wouldn't call the kid and yell at him saying he's no longer a commit, I'm sure it went something like, "You know our policy and we can't risk letting committed players go all over the country on official visits, so we have to consider you uncommitted at this point. We'll continue to recruit you and would like to setup an official visit, but your spot is open again for other people. If you want to re-claim it, you need to get on campus ASAP, re-commit, and do not take any other visits." Pharaoh was obviously uncertain on his pledge, so he had to know it was a problem taking an official to Oregon and knew what the results would be if he did.

I would like to hear your opinions on another aspect of Dunn. Is there anyone on this side off the border that are growing weary of the antics? Idk, its kind of giving me a bad vibe. I do not want to talk negativly about my own team, but I remember a highyly touted quarterback, from a place called Jeanette PA, that pushed off his commitment etc to garner attention. We all know how he turned out. Idk, after all the back and forth I read about this kid, is he heading that way? Have that kind of attitude?
The short of what I am asking is, does anyone on this side feel that he is becoming quite a hassle and may distract fromt the team?

I don't think this is anywhere close to that kid from Jeanette. This one seems like a kid who can't make a decision, compared to a kid who HAD made a decision and wanted to drag it out so he could go on more radio shows and continue getting attention. When a kid (Pryor) wears Buckeye stickers and points at them during the nationally-televised Army AA game, it's pretty clear where they are headed. To drag it out past signing day like he did was a bad, bad sign.. so were the photos with the Corvette and all the other rumblings about Sarniak though.
I do see what you're saying about Dunn though, and have had my own concerns. He is a great player, I'll be disappointed if we don't get him, and he's totally worth the continued recruiting effort. When I look at a recruiting class though, I like to get kids who either LOVE Michigan and never waver (Mike Martin was this type of recruit, and most of the current commits fit this profile), or kids who have that arrogance of knowing they are good and have worked hard to enjoy taking their officials and will decide after that.
Kids who commit, then waver, but seemingly can't make a decision or tell somebody no make me a little nervous. I remember Sam McGuffie wavering on signing day and couldn't decide if he wanted to send his LOI or take more visits. I look at Chris Barnett still being committed to Arkansas until they pulled the plug on him and he decided to commit to Michigan. Je'Ron Stokes backed out on his Tennessee commit before picking Michigan in the end. Kevin Newsome had Michigan fans pumped before backing out and going to PSU. Shavodrick Beaver was going to be the next underrated star QB for RichRod before decommitting for Tulsa. Of course there are success stories (Roy Roundtree, Jibreel Black, and Courtney Avery have done well, I hope Kyle Kalis succeeds, I hope Justice Hayes and Russell Bellomy pan out, etc), but it's definitely a concern of mine just because you wonder how they will handle adversity for the rest of their career.

You are an idiot to think tOSU needs to apologize for hiring Meyer since it might not fit what he wants but that's a different story.
First if Dunn doesn't want to play in a spread then wtf is he doing going to tsun. He will be playing in a spread at least for 2 more years(Denard and Gardner are spread QBs).
Secondly has he even watched the pro game recently??
The best teams in the NFL are moving to spread formations. Take a look at what GB, NE, NO, Pitt and more run. They do not run typical pro sets. Even the Colts with Manning run spread formations. The time of the lead fullback are gone. All teams are running single back spreads because they know its makes the defense open up with holes in them. The days of smash mouth football are gone in this day and age. If Dunn has no desire to play in a spread he might as well stop playing football because he is going to have to adjust to it at some point in his carrier or get left in the dust.

There is a huge difference in the two situations. The Michigan staff tells kids when they are recruiting them that if they take visits they are no longer considered committed. That has never been the case with the Dunn recruitment. You're an idiot if you think they are the same thing. But then again, you do support the buckeyes, and being an idiot and a buckeye fan often go hand in hand.

I don't think Dunn is the same type of flashy attention whore TP was at all. I think he's just a kid trying to decide between two really good football programs. Its probably the biggest decision he's ever had to make. He is going to spend the next 4-5 years of his life in AA or Cbus so I would encourage him to take his time.
But of course the fan part of me has the patience of a two year old and wants him to commit to Michigan right friggin now!
------------------------
As for Rico's post, yeah I've been hearing the same thing. The word is that Dunn is no longer trying to EE. He wasn't able to finish all of the required schoolwork to graduate early and sounds relieved that the pressure is off to make a decision right away.

I guess you don't watch must football then, I name you GB, NE, PITT, NO, Bengals, Cowboys, Giants, Chargers, Denver, Your own Detroit Lions, and many many others are running at least 50/50 spread or even a greater percentage of spread to typical pro style. Sure the 49ners run more pro set play action style offense but the great majority of the league is moving away from it since the league has turned into a pass first, run second league.

A SPREAD OFFENSE DOES NOT EQUAL RUNNING QB. There are run and Pass spreads. This is very ignorant to even think they are not different. Oklahoma, TTech with Leach run Pass spreads. Why do you think they call half these QBs comming out of college Spead QBs.
WoW dude....
Wake up and learn what a spread offense is and not just what RichRod ran at tsun.
