  • I no longer see Duke as a #1 seed without Ryan Kelly

I think the commonly used term in NCAA hoops for what happened here is that they 'Duked' it. That is what people say when a highly ranked team not only lays an egg, but looks like they are going to cry while doing it. Not sure where the term originated... lol

  • I love it. Miami had a good day all around yesterday.

  • No doubt Duke didn't show up to play last night, but I think it was one of those "perfect storm" type of nights. If the teams were both playing how they typically play, it's probably down to the wire with home court advantage probably playing a factor for Miami. However, Duke had abysmal shooting, Miami was shooting the lights out, Miami snagged a ton of rebounds (even chance ones), and were just making the plays. When you can't even make easy lay-ups, odds are not too high of coming out with a win on the road. I think Duke is better than the way they played last night, but there are clearly some major holes there and Plumlee certainly does not look like the player of the year.

Also, this was only Duke's second away game of the season (Michigan has played 4) so perhaps that played a factor in rattling the Blue Devils. Either way, they do not deserve to be #1, that's for sure.
