Only thing you proved me was you had some really good teams in the 40's. You started out 20-0 vs OSU in the early 1900's, when football wasnt a major sport at OSU. Since then you have a grand total of 28 wins. So hey go ahead brag about what you did prior to the war.. You needed a Ohio coach in Bo, and Ohio player in Desmond, an Ohio player in Woodson. Take away our state and you are Purdue.

Take away recruits from Ohio and you're worse than Purdue. Hell, you should be embarrassed about the fact that we took two Heisman winners out of your state. You should be humiliated that we run through your fences and steal your recruits. Honestly, can you imagine what could be if you could actually keep your recruits at home?
Case in point: in 2013, you have exactly 0 LB commits. Our entire class of LBs for 2013 is made up of Ohio kids who committed to us even though they hold OSU offers. That's downright embarrassing for you.

To be fair the LBs that you got out of Ohio this year really weren't competitive situations. I know they have OSU offers now, but McCray didn't get offered until after he was a UM commit. I think its fair to say that Urban thought Gedeon and McCray would be around to be plan b-c type of guys and thought wrong. You have gotten some solid guys out of our state this year, for sure, but most of them weren't high priorities or priorities at all for our staff. Your gain? Time will tell. We took 5 lbs last year and have outstanding depth there already. Personally I think the only big loss for OSU is Thomas, but you can't fault Urban for that one, that was done before he got here. I would be willing to bet Urb gets who he wants out of Ohio, but there are always going to be a ton of solid to good players who go elsewhere simply because Ohio produces so many good prospects.

So misinformed. Meyer practically begged Gedeon to reconsider. He was right at the top of both UM and OSU LB board. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he ended up being the most successful player from Ohio in the 13 class.
He's criminally underrated.
So I guess Urb doesn't want Ferns next season? Better start thinking up excuses for that impending loss.
Just so we are keeping score... 2012 #1 Kalis, 2013 #2 Thomas, 2014 #2 Ferns.
Pillaging Ohio. All the work Tress put in building up that fence has been obliterated. I'd love to hear his thoughts on Urb's national recruiting strategy.
Oh and a BTW.. OSU doesn't get **** from the state of Michigan. Now that's a fence.

A few things, Maybe, I may be misinformed about Urban begging Gedeon to come to OSU, I'm sure that's pretty accurate. Speaking of misinformed, are your rankings for the players you listed arbitrary? I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure A Wash was the top player in Ohio last year. Finally, on Ferns, I didn't realize he had commited to you guys, you have a link to that? Also did 247 already do an update for the 2014 class? No wonder you think you are pillaging Ohio, most of the players you've gotten from there you've bumped up a handful of spots. Finally, about your fence, I don't think they get a lot of competition from OSU up there, but I bet you would have like to have Gholston when he put up 3 sacks against Jake Long. Probably would be nice if you had Hankins this year, no? If OSU offered every kid in Michigan like UM does in Ohio, I would agree with you, but I'm not sure you need the fence, OSU doesn't come to your state very often. I will agree that Gedeon is going to be a real solid player and that you guys are doing a good job recruiting Ohio, I just dont see it as you do that you are going head to head with us in our own state and dominating. I guess time will tell. You trust your staff and I trust ours. It should be fun finding out though.

My bad if I am mistaken, my point was more along the lines of, OSU has gotten some players out of Michigan, they just don't go there often, so its not like there is some fence around Michigan keeping OSU out. I was under the impression that this board enjoyed good football conversation and was even tolerant of opposing viewpoints. I didn't think I said anything offensive, but I'm sorry if somehow I did.

Gholston and Hankins are irrelevant to this discussion since that was under a different coaching staff. Meyer is also making a concerted effort to make head way into Michigan. Get up to speed.
Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit on Ferns, but all reports I've read say it is between UM and PSU, factor in the PSU mess and the fact he's in AA for the BBQ and you do the math.
Bumped up a handful of spots? At best you could drop Kalis #2 and Thomas #3... I would contend they're both #1 but that's semantics. Regardless it will be 3 years running UM has taken some of the best Ohio has to offer. That just didn't happen under Tress. EVER!
Never heard me say anything about dominating Ohio recruiting. That would be delusional to ever think UM can pull that off. But UM is matching OSU blow for blow in Ohio recruiting. I'm not going to do a run down of the top 20 Ohio recruits the last two years but the proof is there for anyone who cares to look. Maybe you should?
Michigan isn't my state. Born and raised in Ohio. Cheer for all Ohio teams other then OSU. Go figure.
Lemme guess... you are in your early to mid twenties? The 90's never happened and the rivalry is defined by Tress. 9-1 is just standard operating procedure. Hate to break it to you but that was an anomaly. Savor the flavor because it was a once in a lifetime run. No more gimme W's.
