I'm not doubting you, really I'm not, but a couple of hot girls and a nice looking campus isn't enough to make somebody immediately have a new leader just like that. And it isn't like UM doesn't have those things. shrug

Auburn has some of the hottest co-eds on the planet earth. And they are in abundance. In alabama in general, but especially in that area. There are so many they don't even realize how hot they are. Most don't have the it girl attitude. It's kind of crazy. Not to mention Panama City is within driving distance.

    Do they like censored?

I was never convinced Green was coming to Michigan. I know some here felt we had a legitimate chance, but this seemed a far stretch to me. While I am not saying he is headed to Auburn, he clearly has 'favorites'. He may visit A2 and come away with a 'blown away' experience. However, this will clearly be a NSD decision - if then. Is Michigan waiting till NSD for Green? I bet we are full by then.

Oh, don't get me wrong, they pay their players, too. The alumni is pretty open about it. It's kind of standard operating procedure down there. Mind you this was like 1999, but if anything, they probably just pay more now. Back then it was Bama, AU, and LSU with the biggest salaries.

UM doesn't have those things. UM has a nice looking campus, UM does not have a wide selection of hot girls.... well at least when I went there.

Not to mention, how many times has a recruit named Michigan their leader after a visit? When that happens do you jump to the conclusion that we're paying said recruit?

Now, I am fully aware that the reputation of Auburn on that front is totally different from that of Michigans. But think of it this way, how many times have MSU fans or similar made the claim that we're only getting recruits because we're promising them playing time or similar? It's not really any different than that, it's just a lame excuse a fanbase makes up to feel better about losing out or behind on a prospect.

There are a long long long list of reasons as to why Green would love auburn after visiting the school, lets not sink down to childish levels and assume it's because he got paid while there.

It is not a lame excuse to say the SEC pay's them to play. My wife's uncle is a Auburn Booster, and not a 25k booster per year. He is in the 100K a tear range or better. He was clear about how things are done in the SEC. BTW, Charles Barkley was clear as well, he said that the $200k for Cam was the best $200K ever spent. He was not joking my friend.

As a matter of fact I spoke with my Bama friend and explained to him what my uncle had said. He agreed and then said, the bag man would not talk. They found the details of the mess but without subpoena powers the truth will never be known. And he closed with, they got away with it was the bigest thing that pissed Bama Fans off.

"win at all costs" I believe these two have been down this road before, a couple of times.

That seems to be a pretty risky proposition at this point.

Your anecdotal story, while interesting, isn't really a strong argument for me in anyway.

Also, don't misunderstand what the intentions of my post were. I'm not saying that football schools paying players doesn't happen. I have no doubts what so ever that it happens. What I'm saying is being the type of fan that when a primary recruiting target says nice things about another school or an SEC school, that it is a lame excuse to dismiss the possibility that they just might like the other school more than their favorite. Could money be a factor? Of course. Is it still a completely lame excuse to believe the only reason Green would prefer Auburn over Michigan is because he's getting paid? Of course.

In your opinion it is a lame excuse, but the facts in history are true. Sure HE may like Auburn. But ya know, I have liked many companies as well because of the offer I could not refuse. But when a major booster who happens to be my wife's uncle who says "It is the Auburn (SEC) way" the facts are hard to ignore. Therefore, not to be rude, but lame excuse to you, fact to those who understand the rules of the game.

    cheers cheers

Calling my view an opinion... which of course it is, but one i've been supporting with reason and logic rather than an anecdotal story... while calling your view a "fact" is pretty freaking egotistical.

The "facts" here are simple, the only evidence you have for your opinion is that your wife's uncle told you a story (and probably the reputation of Auburn, which I touched on before)... Which, "cool story bro." It truly means nothing to me what your wife's uncle told you. As I already said I don't disagree what so ever that schools pay football players... I'm aware this happens.

I'm also not saying that it's impossible that Green did get some money under the table while he's there. Of course that's possible. But the only evidence we have is he took a visit to a school, and left with them being the presumed leader because of comments he's made. The fact this happens ALL THE TIME when money isn't involved is proof enough for me that jumping to the conclusion that money MUST be involved because it happened while someone was visiting Auburn is, and will continue to be, a lame excuse.

Now if you want to continue to want to hide behind that excuse for whatever reason... by all means. Just don't try to call it a fact... really looks tacky.

Dude, give it up! Auburn has a reputation of PAYING PLAYERS. THIS IS FACT. So you can have whatever opinion you wish. Your argument HOLDS NO WATER. My God, quit trying to make your opinion relevant over what Auburn and other SEC schools have consistently been party of. Sheesh!

I forget who it is, but a Michigan Grad living in GA was shown by a boy's father (his friend), the very payment made to his son after he committed to this certain SEC school where he is now enrolled and heading back for his sophomore year. He has since received payments over the past year as the son was promised.
