Derrick Green: They (UM) are very high on my list

  • ESPN had a live Q&A with some prospects, and Derrick Green was one of those.
    A person asked: Is Michigan a serious contender?
    Derrick Green responded: "They are very high on my list. I like how they have their top offensive linemen group. Me and David Dawson are really close."

    Green also says he is "very excited" to come to the BBQ.

    I know some people think we have no shot, but I'm very optimistic about Green's chances to end up at UM.

  • I really think Green's recruitment is totally open right now. Meaning I don't think he has a top school as of right now that he is in love with and leaning toward.

    When/if he makes it to Ann Arbor for the BBQ is going to be huge. Hoke needs to make sure he puts time aside to speak with Green and his Mom. That is something Green has stressed that he is looking for when he comes for the BBQ.

    I didn't know him and Dawson were that close. Hopefully that can go a long way in making Green feel comfortable with Michigan.

  • I feel the same way about this as I do Quon. If he waits to NSD...will we have spots? Will we just move on?

    I hope we do have spots if he wants to come, but I find this quite unlikely.

    Quon isn't waiting to NSD.

    If Green makes it to the BBQ and the visit goes well I am really hoping Hoke will wait on Green. We really don't have a need that has to be filled for that last spot so if Green decides to go somewhere else it wouldn't really hurt to bank that schollie for 2014.

    How many guys are we still recruiting? Who could take that spot?

    Treadwell, Green, Mcquay, Fuller, Bailey, probably a few more but that's a pretty short list. At this point i'm more worried about who is going to leave to open up that spot then somebody else taking it.

    Big news on Derrick Green. He said he and his mom both had a special feeling about Auburn that they haven't had at any other school so far. He said Auburn would definitely be one of his official visits. When asked, he didn't know of any other schools yet that would also receive an official. He said he would be back for the LSU game, likely for an unofficial visit. He's headed to Ole Miss now and will visit Michigan and Ohio State next week.

  • VH3 named USC his leader after visiting, but then after the high from his visit wore off, USC didn't even make VH3's top 5.

    Hopefully the same scenario happens here with Green and Auburn.

    I am not sure I am cool with people insuiating that once Green or another recruit likes a school it is because of shenanigans. I know Auburn stinks but when you imply they are cheating you are also saying that the recruit is dirty.

  • Auburn has some of the hottest co-eds on the planet earth. And they are in abundance. In alabama in general, but especially in that area. There are so many they don't even realize how hot they are. Most don't have the it girl attitude. It's kind of crazy. Not to mention Panama City is within driving distance.

    I like that. . . . I don't know many Mother's who are enthralled with a school associated with a triple murder, involving current and past football players. I think you left an $ out somewhere.

    I just had that feeling. . . . when they started adding zeros.
