You don't quite understand what a threat means. But, hey, that's alright, it's not my problem. Last time I'll say it, he can get to the endzone on any play, does it mean he will? No, but he surely can.

Edit: Last post, I'll talk to you guys when football season rolls around.

Afraid to answer the question because it will blow up in your face?

    I don't blame you.

Toussaint can get in on any play. So can Hart, etc.

No need to get sensitive because people disagree with you and challenge your viewpoint.

Who is the bigger threat, player A or player B?

Both of those guys are proven so I have no idea what you're saying.

To assume that someone who had offers from Cincy, Sparty, and Tennessee before getting an offer from Michigan the day before NSD will beat out a guy who rushed for 1000 yards while starting midseason for a Big Ten team is just absurd.

The following guys will be our feature RB before Norfleet: Toussaint, Rawls, Smith, and Hayes. Your expectations for this guy as a freshman are unreal in my opinion. I hope he can be a solid return man next year. That would exceed expectations for him as a freshman.

Jesus Christ, I swear you're in my head at times when it comes to Michigan football. I couldn't have said it any better.

Go watch some replays of Toussaint last year. He is a threat everytime he touches the ball. His lateral movement and jab step are things of beauty. Threat to take it to the house everytime he touches the ball.

You just don't know what a threat means.

Very curious, who were those two players? Gore and Bush?

Oh I do, and Toussaint proved he is a threat against Neb, Illi, tOSU... Norfleet is a High School highlight reel at this point. I love that he is a Michigan Wolverine, and I look forward to him on ST this year with some spot duty in the offense.

McGuffie. His speed is crazy, he could easily score on any play, while Hart's lack of speed prevents him from making long runs, or catches out of the backfield without getting caught from behind.

    Come on, now you're trolling.

Using your logic, Willie Gault was a bigger threat than Jerry Rice since Gault had world class speed. smh

It was sarcasm. I agree with you.

  • My bad, I read that and assumed MB21.

For MB21, a threat isn't just about breakaway speed. It is also the ability to break tackles, avoid tackles...
Mike Hart was a threat everytime he touched the ball do to his ability to break tackles.
Ron Dayne won the Heisman due to his ability to run over everybody, he was a threat everytiime he touched the ball.
Barry Sanders was ran down plenty of times since he didn't have breakaway speed, but he has jukes moves that made him a threat everytime he touched the ball.
Toussaint has good speed, he has great lateral movement and a jab step that makes him a threat everytime he touches the ball.

Threat means just that, a threat to do something. It doesn't mean he will, it means he can.

Maize, I see your point here. He is just saying that norfleet as the potential to take it to the house. It's a loosing battle though bro cause so many more things come into play when your on the field.

  • Speaking of Toussaint, he reminds me of Chris Perry. They both had/have an amazing ability to pick their way through traffic with little side steps and then breakaway from the pack. Threats everytime they touch the ball, ;).

  • Don't get me wrong though Toussaint is by far the 2nd biggest threat on the field

  • A few things I want to say:

    1) Take any given play in the Michigan playbook run it 20 times and Toussaint is going to have a far better chance of breaking it long. He has very good balance, vision, and anticipation. Even if Norfleet is shiftier and faster, a lot more goes into being a "threat" that we don't know if Norfleet really has.

    2) Norfleet does seem to have swagger, athleticism, and toughness to spare. I do expect big things from him in due time.

    3) I don't think we would be having this conversation if some folks had watched Toussaint's high school highlight reel lately.

    4) Or Terrance Robinson's.

    5) This entire conversation is moot, because Devin Gardner is the second biggest threat with the ball in his hands behind Denard.

  • And I typed out my post and forgot to mention Michael Shaw. He was a big highlight tape hero that didn't turn into much. BounceBounceBounce

Can't believe it took this long for someone to bring up Gardner, great point.

    And Toussaint:
