Who is a bigger threat, Desean Jackson or Rob Gronkowski?

They both are, but Gronkowski had 17 TD's last year (something like that). I'll take more TD's over yards per catch any day. By the way, that comparison doesn't really work, because Norfleet won't play much this year if at all, and you're trying to use two NFL players as comparison for Toussaint and Norfleet.

I'm trying to prove just because a person has more stats than the other, doesn't mean they are more of a threat on the field. It's really not that difficult to understand, you put the ball in Norfleet/Jackson's hands in the open field they are much more of a threat to score than Gronk/Fitz.

McGuffie. His speed is crazy, he could easily score on any play, while Hart's lack of speed prevents him from making long runs, or catches out of the backfield without getting caught from behind.

And McGuffie's lack of power, durability, tackle breaking ability, inside running prevents him from getting out into the open field and using his speed.

Was Troy Williamson a bigger threat than Marvin Harrison? After all, Williamson is fast.

Doesn't change the fact that McGuffie has the physical tools to score on any play, while Hart isn't going to knock off an 80 year run.

Threat means just that, a threat to do something. It doesn't mean he will, it means he can.

I just started this thread to show what number Norfleet will be wearing and to show how grateful he is for this opportunity to play at Michigan. Didn't mean for it to turn into this.

I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, but I think Maize&Blue21 is just referring to their style of play, saying Norfleet comes in with more big play capabilities than the other guys on the roster. He's not saying Norfleet is - or will be - better than anyone else, or that it'll happen right away. We all know he hasn't proven anything at the college level, and may not even play much in 2012. I think he was just focusing on that extra dimension that Norfleet brings to the roster that will be a welcome change of pace from what's already in Ann Arbor.

And Mike Hart can bust up for 80 yard TD, just because he doesn't all the time, doesn't mean he can't. /your logic

Yeah, Norfleet brings another dimension that we don't have from the RB position, but that doesn't mean he is or will be the biggest threat at the RB position.

I am about to do a blind player comparison using two NFL players, both play the same position and have been in the league for about the same amount of time (1 guy has been in the league 1 year longer).

Player A: 7,625 yards rushing 4.6 avg 80 long 43 TD; 2,397 yards receiving 8.4 avg 48 long 9 TD
Player B: 3,176 yards rushing 4.3 avg 76 long 23 TD; 2,438 yards receiving 7.2 avg 74 long 13 TD

Who is the bigger threat?

Go watch some replays of Toussaint last year. He is a threat everytime he touches the ball. His lateral movement and jab step are things of beauty. Threat to take it to the house everytime he touches the ball.
