Take this for what it's worth.. from an A&M board

She said not to worry and that as long as we stay within a 3000 of Michigan that they will give it to Swope. For several reasons:
First- EA is looking to pick up decreasing sales in the southwest, particularly in Texas. They tried this with Baylor but no one knows where Baylor is. Second- there is the appeal of A&M as an emerging brand given the SEC move, Heisman, Etc., this in contrast with the perception that other state schools whose brands are falling(tech whose coach left and texas who have been mediocre). Apparently EA has been watching the brand movements closely. Third-there is a noticeable decrease in sales in the northeast every time Michigan has been on the cover, they think this is mainly due to Ohio State. Fourth- there has been a growing sales trend in the South in recent years and the perception is that a team with no established ****** will promote the SEC brand(which is a huge moneymaker) with out the bias of ****** and other areas.
I was actually pretty surprised by how close attention EA pays to the shifta in the college sports world, but they are a in a multibillion dollar industry and want to maintain dominance over college gaming. So it strongly matters who they put on the cover because it affects the bottom line.
So keep posting Ags, and don't mention this on Facebook because we've already seen how much the Mich fans like to b&m. For more details go to the Vore Room

Actually, the opposite would be true. Have you seen how many fan page votes Denard has? Put down the pipe. Both sides are playing the same games. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
