  • Steve (or anybody else), have you watched his film? What do you think?

DGDestroys said on twitter that he has good speed, but is stiff in the hips which could limit his potential. DG knows a lot about football, so I would agree with his evaluation without watching Reon's film.

  • OK, the comparison I have made is to Raymon Taylor. Am I wrong?

I've seen some and I'll have a more thorough assessment coming soon, but Reon is a long/lengthy cornerback that excels in man coverage. He obviously needs to add bulk so he can be more of a factor in the run game but he is a good looking piece of clay that the coaches think they can mold into something special.

The stiff hips comment is an interesting one. On another site, one of the non-Michigan (pointing that out since he has no reason to be a homer) analysts commented in the thread on Dawson and mentioned his 'great fluid hips' as a reason he had high upside even though he's still raw.

    Thanks M&B and Clint.

Also - Clint, from your description, that kind of sounds like Gareon Conley. Is that a fair comparison? (maybe Reon is less fluid in hip movements though, like M&B said because I remember plenty of people saying Conley has amazing hip movement for a guy is size)

I have yet to watch his film, so I cannot give my own opinion on it. I'm about to go check them out though.

  • I just watched a little of his junior film for myself and I came away not overly impressed. He is definitely raw and will require some major beefing up to do before he sees significant playing time.

Overall, I agree with DGDestroys in the hips comment because he appears to either run north/south or east/west, never really in between. Another thing I'd like to see Reon improve on is his aggressiveness at the line of scrimmage and his tackling technique. Those things should come in time though. Great athlete, he could be a big time player if he works hard.

  • With Dawson being commit number 26. Is it only fitting that the 27 spot belongs to no other then the man who wears the number 27 Derrick Green !!

Number 27 will most likely go to the kicker, JJ McGrath. lol

With how many kids we take out of there, it might as well be in Michigan.
