David Dawson talking about decomitting.

So what's really going on? Is he really thinking about decommitting?

    BleedingxBlue

  • In the end, I think he stays.

This class is very close to each other, and also being from Cass Tech, Wilcher will have a talking with him.

  • Just curious what brought this on.

Coulda swore about a month ago he was rock solid with Michigan.

    BleedingxBlue

  • If he does...he does...if not then....YAY. But the class will be great with or without him. Let him camp at Florida so he can see that it ain't nothing compared to what we have.

He is not going anywhere. The FL fanbase thinks they can get him, and thus are hyping this camp. He is close to Michigan. FL is dreaming .... Dawson was tweeting "Good morning .. God bless ... Go Blue ..." just a week ago.

If he goes, Hoke needs to decide if to pull the scholorship. Is this a "camp", or a "recruiting mechanism" for FL? If you do for one ... you have to do for all. Bad move IMO. Dawson should know better.

  • It's one thing to want to visit a camp, but its another thing to actually talk about decommitting.

According to Kyle Bosch, he has been talking about decommiting. :/

    BleedingxBlue

  • Leave the #1 recruiting class? Not sure I would want to do that, not to mention the offensive linemen UM puts in the NFL. If he wants to be a Gator then let him be a Gator. Do I think he decommits? No. If we refuse to let him visit FL then he might.

  • I think he stays. I have no problem with him camping there. Didn't he camp at Bama recently?

Yes and Dawson is assuming it's ok to do the same at Florida. The posters on here are saying it's different because this camp is a big Florida recruiting tool and Dawson was at the Bama camp with a bunch of his teammates.

Yeah, I don't get the difference.

I trust the coaches...if they say ok, fine by me.

Every camp is a recruiting mechanism. I don't have a real problem with Dawson attending. Will be very dissapointed if he does decommit though.

  • I like Dawson and would like for him to find the right school for him.

But if he swimmers he's gone, and I would hate for him to watch Michigan win a championship from home

  • The Alabama camp was a 7 on 7 tournament that the Cass Tech kids all went down to with Wilcher, this is to attend the equivalent of the BBQ in the Big House by himself.....if he wants to go, by all rights he should be able to, I just think that to be fair the coaches would need to consider this visiting and not a camp. This is the event Urban Meyer started and is continuing at OSU for commits and big prospects.....it is not just a day camp type of program.

  • Is it really that hard for some of you to see the difference?

    1. Cass Tech's entire team was at Alabama. Dawson is going to Florida on his own.

    2. Alabama was not talking to either of our Cass Tech commitments for months before they went down there. Dawson has been in regular contact with Florida's staff all throughout the process, and did not stop after he committed to Michigan.

    3. As stated, this "camp" is Florida's major recruiting event. It's their equivalent of the BBQ. They are hosting Dawson because they want him in their class and believe they have a great chance at turning him.

So no, this is not just another camp like the one at Alabama. This is a problem.

It might not be the same thing on Florida's end but Dawson considers it the same thing. He says he is going to compete. Good enough for me.

Meh. I would rather the coaches trust the recruits just as the recruits trust the coaches.

  • You guys are all overreacting. I'm not concerned about losing a CT kid, Florida fans are just way too optimistic here.

Dawson is apparently talking about decommiting so it's probably more than just competition.

  • WTF? I'm just pissed at this whole thing. This whole situation just sucks! I have to believe he is Blue, I think he stays! He might be having second thoughts but he will realize AA is for him. Just hope he doesn't go to far.

  • We'll see what happens. If he decommits or visits Florida, Hoke will not pull his schollie. He'll just no longer consider him a commit. So we'll still recruit him and try to get him here, but he just won't be committed. In the end, I think he stays blue. And I really hope he does, because he's one hell of an OG.

  • I'll believe it when I see it. And if it happens, good luck to him but I think Michigan's line will be just fine.
