You guys are funny....Always saying Urban lies to kids etc... funny, EVERY kid that has talked about Meyer have said just the opposite. He's up front with them, never promises anything, they have to work for a spot, but they are allowed to earn that spot their freshman year if they are good enough. It's always fun to read y'all bashing him, but honestly after a year+ of it, it starts to look like sour grapes. IF you can't see the attraction a kid would have to play for a coach that has won everywhere he has coached, and won a LOT, then that's pretty narrow minded. But, if you had landed Urban and he was pulling in all these recruits from all over I'm sure the Bucknut crowd would say the same things, because deep down we'd be jealous too..

Well, of course you would since you have no choice.
I myself would take Bama's last two classes, then I'd take Urban's. I have no problem admitting another coach recruited better than mine. I'm not a homer like a lot of BN'ers. I just think it's funny that Urban is tagged as all these things that are made up on message boards, mostly by his former teams fans. As for Treadwell and Foster, the OSU staff backed off of them long ago after their visits. One was a possible academic risk the other was a possible "Risk in General", as in having an "Advisor" etc...
But whatever you want to believe to make you feel better. As I said, I don't speak badly of Hoke's recruiting or coaching, only his showing up at MSU's junior day for a bball game.

The OSU staff "backed off" because the two kids DM'd each other and realized that Urban was lying to them. I know we joke about saying that every kid who turns down OSU clearly had a non-committable offer or Urban backed off them, but if you seriously think the reason OSU stopped going after those two is because of some active choice on the part of the OSU staff, you are a complete homer.

OSU didn't back off Laquon Treadwell, he backed off of OSU. Robert Foster's situation is different, however. I don't really care who dropped who there (nor should we ever say that a school "dropped" a 17-18 year old kid, we have to have more tact there), but Mike Farrell from Rivals has said numerous times that he doesn't think Foster will qualify academically for Bama, even. So it's not difficult to see the forest for the trees on that one. That situation transpired in the same way the Shelton Gibson situation did. My personal opinion is that OSU wanted Foster until the end, but was apprehensive about whether he'd qualify academically, in much the same way they were apprehensive about whether Gibson would qualify academically. I don't feel that's a homer opinion. Nor does it mean I think OSU would even be Foster's choice (I think he was Pitt and Bama's to lose), just that I think there's a fair argument to make for what Best of the B1G is claiming on Foster if a person followed OSU's recruiting of him.
Now the idea that OSU backed of Treadwell? That's ridiculous, untrue from all accounts, and a homer opinion lol.

Just saying, both Foster and Treadwell (post-OSU visit) acknowledged that they talked over twitter, and Foster's dad came out and said he was particularly confused by how the OSU staff were conducting themselves. While there's no evidence that event alone contributed to Treadwell and Foster backing off OSU, it strains credulity to imagine that it's just a coincidence that both of them went in other directions from OSU mere days/weeks after their visit and after they talked.

I've never come over talking any trash saying how we're gonna beat the hell out of you or your players suck or your coach sucks etc....
But it is really funny to me to see the cockiness from a fanbase that has lost almost all of our rivalry FB games since 2000. Now, this "dynasty" might be coming to an end, or it might just be right in the middle of it. We don't know, but If I was on the losing end of pretty much a decade, I surely wouldn't be assuring too many victories.
That would be like OSU fans going on SEC board and crowing that we own them or are going to stomp them...
Just sayin'
