  • I agree if he is not committed in Jan and there is room he comes back to us. Some fan may not like it, but talent like his is hard to just pass on.

Ok so can someone fill in the blanks for me. I am trying to figure out how this all went down as I confused.

    1. Commits to Michigan that weekend we got 8 commits 2. At the Opening he discusses possibly camping at Florida. Coaching staff calls him up to clarify that would be a visit and would not count as a commit. Doesn't camp at Florida. 3. This is where I get confused. Did we get tired of him flirting with Florida and straight pull his scholarship then he visited Florida? Did he say he was going to visit so we no longer consider him a commit? I know a Florida coach let our coaching staff know of his intention to visit, did our coaching staff not like hearing it from someone else and pulled his scholarship? 3.5) Michigan 'fans' blast him on twitter. These people, I do not like them. 4. He visits Florida, doesn't commit. 5. Top 5 now includes OSU and MSU.

I was surprised at him not committing to Flordia and I assumed that was the school he was going to as he dropped us for them. Did something happen and now he is basically without a school and looking at OSU and MSU seriously because we dropped him? I'm just confused about all of this. Any clarity would be appreciated.

    Alright let's clarifty.

He scheduled visits multiple times to UF (and subsequently no-showed) after sitting down with the coaches post "Opening" and re-affirming his commitment. One of the UF coaches filled Mattison in on this and the UM coaches cut Dawson loose.

Dawson reportedly tried to stay committed after this went down. but the coaches weren't having it.

The whole MSU and ohio thing is happening because he has an ax to grind with UM (IMO) . I would still think UF is where he ends up, unless they have cooled on him as well.

Not going to happen. This isn't how our staff operates.

I would be surprised if that happened.

The ship has sailed. It will not happen under any circumstance. Wilcher has confirmed this.

Especially this year for OL recruiting. We wrapped up the best OL class in the country back in March. I love all our OLs, but so many top OLs want to come to Michigan that if you're not on board, we have no problem moving on to the next one.

  • "I rushed myself into a bad situation at Michigan earlier this year by not weighing my options, so I didn't want to make the same mistake," he said. "I want to look at a few other schools close to home, and that might play a factor in the long run. That's mainly because of all the things my family has been through in the last year, so I feel that maybe I should try to stay close to my support system." - Quote from interview with TVH.

So let's get this straight... it was a bad situation at Michigan.. why? Because he's an attention whore and wanted to take visits. Then he takes his visit and decides he might want to be closer to home. What a genius...

This kid is making himself look worse and worse as his recruitment drags out... Honestly I hope he goes to MSU so when we stomp them out for the next 4+ years, he can watch kids like Jourdie Lewis, Kyle Bosch, and Morris celebrate with the Paul Bunyan trophy.

Leave the kid alone. He's 17 and screwed up. The fact that he lost the chance to attend Michigan and play football for the Wolverines is punishment enough.

Seriously though, any chance we can get this thread locked up? I only care about players that want to play for Michigan.

If he goes to MSU, I hope he walks off the field the loser to Michigan every year and goes to a restaraunt bowl every year, be it Outback, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pizza Pizza... While watching Michigan play in the Rose Bowl or in the NC game/playoff.

And that is the worst I would wish on any of these kids.

Quit doing interviews with UM writers talking about UM? Don't go all sour grapes and add Ohio and MSU into your top 5?

lol Might have to lock it Ducks. Seems like some Michigan fans have sour grapes toward Dawson as he does toward Michigan.
