David Dawson...

  • If Dawson really wanted to come back to Michigan, he should have done the mature thing and issued a public apology and admitted to his mistakes (i.e. not being forthcoming and not being loyal).

    That would have shown initiative, accountability, and remorse.

    Instead, he's acting like a scorned lover. I'm surprised Wilcher hasn't reined him in.

    I wonder if the current commits would want Dawson back. It doesnt really matter in the end what they want but curious if they would welcome him back.

    Maybe if he had a Thomas Tyner-like change of heart and had tried to recommit immediately, but after taking the Florida visit and talking as much trash as he has, I can't imagine any of them want him back. He and Bosch weren't the best of friends as it was, and everything he's done in the last little while can't be helping.

  • This kid is a straight up punk. I hope that the kids committed and the ones that we are recruiting are mature enough to realize this kid is lying through his teeth. I'm not worried about the kids at Cass because they prob know the truth about what happened. As long as Wilcher is at the reigns Michigan will have a strong presence with Cass tech, he might even use this as a example for his other players and how not to handle recruiting and the social media. I just wish that one of the commits would call him out and just tell him to shut his trap

  • I understand he is mad at us, but I really hope someone sits him down to tell him that revenge against us should not be a determining factor against us because he may end up hating a school that he goes to because he wanted to get back at us.

    If he goes to MSU (which I think he chooses) or OSU then fine, but I hope he chooses whatever school for good reasons and not revenge.

  • I wonder if he actually had a committable offer from Florida - just a guess but seems possible that he found out on that visit to florida he was a back up plan for them. Just odd he has been so desperate to visit Florida and soon as he does he comes back and names OSU and MSU favorites

    This was my exact thought too. He may be pissed now, but usually those feelings fade in time. It's sad really, his dad dies, the drama filled saga with being a Michigan commit. Now he is on to downing Michigan because of his actions. Kid is all over the place. I hope a positive role model steps in and helps this kid. Not for the sake of football. But to deal with life and grow up!

    He's one of the top guards in the country, I doubt he was a backup plan.

    I think the more likely scenario is that Florida cooled on him for the same reasons Michigan did... if the story is true and he kept no-showing on Florida after telling them he was taking a visit, then the backstabbing nonsense came about I could see Florida saying he's just not worth the headache.

    I think he ends up at ohio.

    He could end up at OSU out of spite, but is he a good fit for a spread offense? I'm no expert on offenses and the types of players needed, but he always seemed to rely more on strength than athleticism. Being a guard in a spread offense relies on a lot of movement and getting to the second level, so is that a good fit for his style?

    Taco said something about some fans were disrespecting him, but a lot of Michigan fans were telling those people off and backing Dawson up on that. Then he said tweeting negative things about Michigan was just going to rile those people up even more.

    He basically said i get that you're mad and mad that someone was talking about your dad but sending out anti Michigan tweets isn't going to do you any good. He also said most Michigan fans were good to you even though you did Michigan wrong basically. Taco laughed at Dawson and said see you sent out these tweets like this and then get mad when Michigan fans say stuff. Taco is just keepin it real with Dawson, almost like a big brother type deal hint hint hint......
