You have NO idea of what OSU is strong in adademically and what UM is NOT strong in academically. It varies from school to school.

    Please enlighten me. coffee

  • All I know is that OSU has a good Pharmacy program. I believe they are like 5th or 6th in the nation.

OSU has a good pharmacology program...but last I checked Michigan was ranked higher. Could have changed I guess.

OSU is fine academically, but in general, there are very, very few areas where OSU is ranked higher than Michigan. FYI...my wife is a clinical professor at OSU.

Mocking Webb because he praises OSU's academics is being misinformed:

I just realized danmas's account picture is that completely accurate, non-generalized, unbiased recruiting sign used by Meyer. Going off that, he's right. OSU has us beat.

I'm not naive enough to think that 99% of football players at either school get to experience much of the academic quality of either institution.

Why?... you would refuse to be convinced anyway.

Cut him some slack, at least he was right, there is no way he could convince me of OSU's academic superiority. But if he's able to form the argument, I would absolutely love to read it. The entertainment from it could possibly salvage what's left of this shitty weekend.

  • it just sucks because i think that Damon has the highest potential of any defensive back to come from CTech, at least from my memory, he also is the first tall one lol. Really wanted this kid, hopefully we can flip him in the end

  • Meyer is a great recruiter, it's easy to see the appeal, to be honest there's little point in second guessing every guy we are after who instead picks Meyer and OSU. There's also little point in panicking, you win some, you lose some.

I think Ty Isaac is good, but to me, Derrick Green looks like a future 2-3 time All-American in the making. He's one that I was really disappointed that he didn't end up at OSU. To me, he's the sort of back that Alabama has made a living with, in the Mark Ingram/Trent Richardson/Eddie Lacy mold. If Michigan does indeed get him (which it looks like you will), I don't look forward to playing against him. He seems like 200 yard rushing games in the making.

I agree. It's hard to project HS players to college. But Green looks very promising.

I' m sure you're right- but to act like OSU is a nubs school that is not well regarded for academics is intellectualy dishonest.

Strengths - Tall, physical, quick, fluid, athletic, versatile

Weaknesses - Top end speed, under-developed fundamentals, bucknut.

WHY do UM football fans and BB fans always fall back on "We're better academically, so... ultimately, WE are the REAL winners."? Even ones who've never attended UM? Because you've lost 17 of the last 20 BB games and only won one FB game since 2003. It's all you got... your ancient history and your baseless arrogance.

    I go to Michigan shrug

Oh, it is a good school. I don't think that Webb's decision was based on academics though. I think he simply liked the football there more.

Baseless arrogance? How many college football programs can boast having one of the top 30 academic programs in the nation, also while having 900 wins?

You literally came over here to say OSU has comparable academics to Michigan and nothing else. So we don't fall back on it, you just happened to bring it up. Now you're trying to flip all of this because you realized you have no argument, so your second resort is our arrogance and recent records against OSU. You seem fairly intelligent, did you dual major in Slavic Languages and Persuasive Writing at OSU?

Because it's a university with the purpose of educating the youth of the country. Plus, none of us are actually playing in these games and our payrolls don't rely on the outcome. I'll take a degree and a good-paying job over wins in a sporting event any day.
