Well this kind of makes me angry that we wouldn't wait it out for either dunn or even wes brown drake could have been picked up at the end of recruiting

Very strange indeed. Either the coaches know something about Dunn that we don't or they really, really like this kid. Drake has had an amazing season no doubt, but I just don't see his game translating into a B1G running back. The timing of this offer is also very strange. That being said, welcome to the fam. It is strange on the timing, but his name has been picking up steam on the message boards for awhile now, so it's not that surprising to me.
Maybe the coaches see a way to get to 28 scholarships and wanted to lock him up before other offers came in, while still leaving the door open for Dunn if he's not going to decide anything until January? Since the kid plays across the street, it would be really easy for the coaches to walk over and watch him workout. This isn't some random 2*/3* offer from a kid they have rarely seen, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
And 6 TDs against Cass Tech last year is still impressive. Can't say he only did it against weak competition.

He's 133 yards away from breaking the state rushing record. Pretty good IMO. I don't care what anyone says, anytime Michigan offers a Pioneer kid, they will jump at it. This leads me to have doubts on stealing Dunn, but Sam Webb of WTKA said he doesn't think this will effect Michigan's efforts in recruiting Dunn. I still can't see Michigan more than one RB (Houma is a FB to me) in this class. But if Michigan can swipe Dunn more power to them.
As for Drake, WELCOME! Getting a scholarship to Michigan for football is the dream of every Pioneer kid, I know this from experience in the past. Always nice having someone from PiHi getting attention.

Saw that he has had an unbelievable season with something like 3,000+ yards and over 30 TD's, but I thought the consensus was with most folks that it wouldn't translate well for Michigan. Oh well, coaches know best hopefully. Drake Johnson.

This. Everyone here saying the coaches shouldn't have offered him, well, you're not coaches. Our coaches have done nothing to make me doubt their decisions, so I'm very glad to have Drake Johnson as a Michigan Wolverine.
And IMO this only means that the coaches wanted him and he had told them he wouldn't accept a preferred walk-on spot

I watched his highlight video and immediately compared him to Iowa's Coker. I like his running style. With a couple years in the weight room, this kid could be a bruiser.
