  • I love the expanded deuce package Borges showed off against Iowa, and cant wait for DG and DR to dominate next week. DG+DR > BM

MSU isn't a very good football program.. takes year of consistent winning to get to that level. - copemoney 1/22/13

Huh. I was thinking BM referred to a turd. Turns out I was right.

  • The way Devin's been playing, I'd say that DG > BM with or without DR on the field.

I definitely think Devin has the better arm than Braxton, but Braxton has the better feet.

This is where Denard comes in to play with he being a threat in the back field to run. It's going to be another high scoring affair next week IMO.

Devin might not be a run-first qb but he's scored 5 or 6 td's with his feet in two games. IMO Devin is the better qb because he can carve up a secondary with his arm and scramble for a first down when needed.

I do agree with you there. It seems like Devin goes through progressions more, then uses his feet as his last resort. Braxton looks to sit in the pocket for a couple seconds then runs.

So, if Michigan's defense does what Wisconsin's did last night, which was sellout to stop the run, then I definitely like Michigan's chances next weekend.

  • Braxton looks to be a step slower then he did at the beginning of the year.

Constant shots at the body will do that to ya.

Denard is much slower this year than he has in previous years, and I think that's just from all the hits he has taken is finally taken its toll on him.

Just have to get some shots on Braxton next week, but clean hits.

He is, but most players are at this point in the season.

  • The game Saturday will be about us being able to get a few three and outs....we were always going to score 28 no matter who was back there.

  • did anyone hear gardner's post-game presser yesterday? he said every time denard was on the field, the iowa defense was screaming to each other "denards on the field, denards on the field!" lol he's such a huge distraction/decoy to defenses. everyone keying on him. defenses have so much respect for him

I never understood why Iowa didn't just go to an eleven man front yesterday, there was no way he was going to throw and everyone knew it.

Felt the same way last night myself. If last night was week 7 or earlier, he breaks 2 big runs; instead he was a non-factor carrying the ball.

By that same token, Denard looked much less explosive yesterday than he has even earlier in the season. I'm hoping that's mainly due to shaking off the rust of the last few weeks, but I think OSU really does need to be worried about Braxton's body holding up. He's taken more hits than Denard just by virtue of his having to play more his freshman year. Unless Meyer revises the offense, Braxton won't survive - I'm amazed his injury this year wasn't more serious.

I watched Braxton play in hs and he was injury prone. I am surprised that he has not gone down yet. Eventually he will imo.

  • Wisky's defense was just putting up a fence around Braxton. Similar to what MSU does to Denard. The key to tackling Braxton or Denard is not to come in for the tackle out of control. I didn't really see Wisky defensive players leaving their feet to make tackles and the result: Braxton dancing his way minimal gains. If we can be disciplined Saturday, I like our chances against him cause I just don't think he's accurate enough to beat you from the pocket.

They are practically the same passers, but Denard is a much better runner. Healthy Denard > Braxton. That said, Devin Gardner at QB + Denard Robinson as a QB+RB+WR >>>>>>>> Braxton Miller at QB.

You won't here any argument from me over using Devin and Denard both at QB/R/RB. I think we could possibly see a lot more of Denard at RB this week with Fitz being out.
