Exactly. Guys are acting like we've been set so far back with Denard at QB. Last time I checked we went 11-2 last season and personally I believe we'll have another good season this year. I don't expect Denard to have another game like he had on Saturday. I've never seen him play that poorly and don't think he will again.
I prefer Hoke's philosophy to Rich Rod's where he ran a read-option with pro-style guys. Fact of the matter is the people who are complaining about Hoke's philosophy are the same people who would have been pissed if we went 5-7 last year. I don't agree with sacrificing a season for the sake of "the future" when you have no idea what the future might hold. You know what you have now, so you play to those strengths.
The calls for the backup QB from fans (of any team) always amuses me. It's like they want to see him just to make sure he's not a better option than the starter. If he's not we can go back then at least we got to see him and we know he's not a better option.
There has been NOTHING shown from Russell Bellomy or Devin Gardner that would lead me to believe that either of them would be a better option. Bellomy wasn't some 5* guy that is biding his time to be a starter. Gardner's been practicing at WR. What makes you think they'd be better?

I agree with everything you said except for one thing. ''Best athlete to ever don a UM uniform''.
I think a certain HEISMAN winner from '97 would have something to say about that. I can actually think of a handful of other players also. Howard?
Howard and Woodson went on to play in the NFL. Robinson won't even sniff the pros. And if he does he'll get released within 3 years never to be heard from again.
Gringo Mafia Sergeant at Arms - 5 time POTW
You sir should be ban for that. Denard has done his absolute best in the maize and blue. He has shown great pride in everything he has or hasn't accomplished. I think he will play for much longer than your "Heisman hopeful" linebacker. He is a better athlete than Tim Brown. What happens if he can catch? If you have comments to make about the future of Michigan athletes you should keep them on the obnoxiously golden page!
Wait now timeout dude I didn't say anything wrong here. I simply made my own comment. I wasn't bashing anything Michigan are you nuts??
You guys have handed us our own shit for 3 years! Until you go on a stretch like that maybe you should check your tone! What we can't have this one!?
"Robinson won't even sniff the pros. And if he does he'll get released within 3 years never to be heard from again."
I would like to think much better of Denard, and any Michigan athlete than what apparently is Irish print.
Dude I was just being honest. That's honestly what I think that wasn't bashing. Take it easy. Hey ya know I'm beginning to think you're being a little bias here because I'm a Notre Dame fan...
I already stated what I think. Denard will play longer in the NFL then your "Heisman hopeful" linebacker.
How long was Tim Brown in the NFL?
Robinson has a chance to make it as a return man, maybe a slot guy. But obviously the fact he spent his entire college career practising as QB rather than any of those things sets him back a bit on that front.
But there are a few examples here, Antwaan Randle El was an explosive "one man offense" at Indiana before becoming a useful receiver in the NFL, Matt Jones was the Razorbacks' QB before he embarked on a career as a WR in the NFL but of course drugs kinda ruined his career early on.
Tim Brown? Oh about 2 decades.
What position do you think he'll play then?
If he can catch maybe a Steve Smith type guy, better athlete than Randle El IMO. Defensively he could be really, really good as a corner. Scary good!
why the f*ck would any fanbase feel like their rival "deserves one". Your team was outplayed, 6 turnovers and you win by 7, is that deserving it? and telling a Michigan fan to "check their tone" on our board, this isn't domer land and we can say whatever we want, if you don't like it then take your ass back to your board.
There is your answer, at least as long as that prima donna.
think about that for a little irish. He's an explosive player. There's gonna be some nfl teams that would love to put him at KR, slot wr and at qb for the wild cat. you have running backs in the nfl running the wildcat. it makes it more dangerous if you have denard running it at 4.3 speed and can throw an average ball if the D brings the house.
How do you know he'd be good as a corner?
I said this same thing about Brady Quinn and a Jimmy Clausen so everybody relax!
Deven Hester 2.0 easy to see that.. Hester was also a kid without a position in college and his first few years in Chicago..
exactly, noones going to argue that he's an NFL qb but the kid is such an amazing athlete with elite speed and elusiveness, you can't tell me he can do nothing for an NFL team.
What position do you see him asked to participate at the Combine this year? As some alluded to he has all the makings of an elite CB, IMO. Size and quick twitch reflexes, but he's such a threat with the ball. Very interesting dilemma for NFL coaches. Seems like learning to play CB would take a lot more time and reps than being asked to play WR.
yea, possibly could become a corner but I think his highest potential is as a percy harvin type, used in the backfield, slot and returner. He is just so dangerous when he has the ball in space, outstanding speed and "make you miss" ability that I don't really see him moved to corner.
but as for what position he comptes in at the combine my best guess would be wr.
Denard would fit in well in Detroit's offense in the role Burleson is playing. A lot of short passes trying to get him in space to run. A couple end arounds a game.
they'll probably have him participate in couple different positions on offense, fwiw he also played CB in high school
Now brace yourselves cause I'm just being honest.
Robinson will never play DB nor be a consistent contributor on offense. It's not that hard to have the right feel for a player. Sorry but Robinson ain't got it.
