Here we go again, him being above 310 means he has to be a nose.
Seriously, I see nothing wrong with having a defensive front with approximately 650 pounds of beef on the tackles.
no, him being above 310 and Wormley, Poggi and Hurst are why he has to be a nose.
Yes waste his eligibility by being Pipkins back up for 4 years. Makes sense.
So wast the elgibility of Wormley, Hurst or Poggi by having them back up Henry for 3-4 years? The best guys are going to play, i'm just betting that the best guy is not going to be Henry when it's all said and done. And somebody has to back up Pipkins. Would you rather see him 4th string at 3 tech or 2nd string at NT?
Or maybe he is the best of the bunch and starts wherever he wants. Nobody has actually seen him play yet.
You are aware we are rotating DL a bunch. Henry will likely play both spots throughout his career depending on who else is in the game. Assuming Pip is as good as we think he will be throughout his career, backing him up wouldn't be wasting anyone's eligibility. It will just mean our DL is going to be absolutely awesome.
Since when will Wormley be playing this year? and Hurst will end up a nose.
Wait, you mean waste 3 years of eligibility for Hurst by having him backup Pipkins? Blasphemy. I mean he isn't even over 300 lbs yet.
And I know Wormley won't be playing this year, i'm talking about career.
Hurst is 290 going into his senior year of high school and Henry graduated at 280ish? Wow just wow.
Hurst is just absurdly athletic for his size though.
didn't pick up on the sarcasm from my first comment?
Its a message board, sarcasm is hard to decipher. Sorry man.

That's what I want to see.
Plus hoke wants more beef now, which is is why he is trying Campbell at 3 tech. He said we were too "soft in the middle".
Honestly, I love this argument because we couldn't have had it under the RR years. I LOVE that hoke and company are bringing in big, strong, athletic boys on the D-line! I love we are talking rotation because soon enough we are going to be able to rotate and not loose production. O-lines are going to get tired with the continues onslaught of quality players up front!
to be honest i'm still worried that we are targeting too many tweeners and not enough really big bodies. Three in two classes isn't horrible and alot of these guys will get bigger but i'd still like to see a few more 300 lb DL coming in so we aren't worried about guys like Jibreel Black not gaining enough weight.
How about this---" I asked Montgomery who would be his starting line if they had a game today, and he said it would be Roh, Campbell, Black and Quinton Washington."--Tom Dienhart BTN
????? Thats alot of beef, but doesnt sound right according to camp reports.
Those kids are still in high school, give them some time do develop.....also I like the moving BWC to 3 tech while having Pipkins/Washington at nose, while moving Black to WDE where his current athleticism and weight are more ideally suited.....good coaching right here
Looks like they may just use a heavy package at times. Could be first downs, could be goal line....who knows
Agreed. Campbell seems to be more of 3 tech anyways. And Black naturally being a DE will work well too.
