I saw that and thought it was awesome. I also saw he tweeted it to Chris, but Webber isn't on twitter often, so it's doubtful he read it. I know Jimmy and Ray are making the trip for sure, and Jalen's trying to if he isn't working. It would be cool for one of them to reach out to him and bring him to the ATL. Juwan can't make it because he has a game on Saturday.

That is pretty much the coolest thing ever!
That's great. I wasn't alive during the Fab Five era, but just reading about them and watching the documentary, I think Webber is my favorite player on the Fab Five.

That is really really cool. +1
I want this team to have their spotlight. Having the fab five there will only take that away. Jalen said on ESPN he doesn't want that
That's awesome, thanks for sharing. I hope he makes it to ATL.
I just don't agree with this at all, because I don't see it as the spot light not being on the team. So should a TV production never show Hardaway or Big daddy Robinson on TV, because it's taking some of the spot light from the kids? I know this is a sticky situation, but using eg's that may or may not compute then we shouldn't have guys like Charles Woodson or Tom Brady showing up to support Michigan at a BCS National Championship(you know the camara would be on these guys a ton). I know, I know somewhat of an absurd comparison, but still. All I'm saying is I would be all for Webber showing up at the games...
Chris Webber and others set back the program at least a decade. I hope I never see him back at Crisler. Thought it was cool that when he played at the Palace everyone, including UofM fans booed him. When UofM was down he never once apologized, now that were back he all of a sudden wants to come back? Sorry were not Ohio, were notot going to parade him around on peoples shoulders like they did Tressel.
If Ohio or an SEC school did this all of us would make fun of them

I agree. We can't have it both ways.
I was alive during the fab 5 era, but I was too young to remember it. I am indifferent about Chris Webber. He was my dads favorite player for many years, but after the scandal... my dad hates his guts. I think he should make an apology to Michigan. This should not be done now because it would a HUGE distraction. I also do not think he should attend the FF because that would be a HUGE distraction as well.
He and several others set this program back for about 15 years. You and I have lived through them. He is the main reason of this.
Maybe I read your comment wrong, but I would love to see Charles Woodson an/or Tom Brady at our games. Obviously they have been in the NFL so that hasn't been possible because they are playing/preparing for games. I would love to see them at the FF... they could actually do this because it's the offseason. I wouldn't be surprised to actually see it happen. We have no examples because this is the first FF since they went to Michigan.
I don't need an apology from Webber. Michigan doesn't need to parade him around either. The simple fact is Webber was a young kid who made a mistake but he is still a part of the Michigan family. Families forgive and forget. I have gotten over what Webber did and don't care how any other fanbase would view Michigan accepting Webber back into the family.
Has he said anything positive about Michigan lately? Jalen has been ecstatic about Michigan lately. I just don't see any love from him towards Michigan. Maybe I'm wrong, can anyone give me an example of Webber doing/saying something positive about Michigan?
I don't see your point.
This was last week. It's all I got.

If I played at Michigan and they made the FF... I would be making comments like crazy. I haven't hear him say anything about Michigan in years... nothing. (not even negative things) Seems to me that he doesn't care.
All of the other members have made comments. Webber even refused to comment on the fab 5 documentary. I do expect at least a "go blue" or something of that nature. I know it won't happen though.
Yeah I did forget about that lol. What other song/fight song could you hum 7 notes and someone else instantly recognize it?
I think there's a little bitterness with Webber. He didn't exactly leave on a positive note with the timeout, and the university really hit him hard. His disassociation thing ends in the next few months. Until then, I don't expect anything major to happen. He's older now, too. Maybe he's matured enough to apologize. He definitely loves UofM and he said so when the accusations were thrown his way. Whenever he's ready, I'm sure he'll be accepted by the university. There's no rush. All of this is only being magnified because it's the first final four for the program since he was last there.
I think Chris, even if he isn't publicly expressing, is still keeping up with his UofM basketball. How would he know Michigan was playing Kansas otherwise?
I would expect that. That scene seemed *set up*. An announcer giving news wouldn't stumble across information. Regardless I liked that.
The TO was rough. It has been 2+ decades now. Some people who weren't even alive during his freshman year are now legally allowed to drink. It has been quite some time. I would hope he has matured at about age 40. It is time apologize or admit doing something wrong. I cannot believe the apologists. Him and a few others put this program down for years... about 15. The last 2 seasons are the only memories I have of Michigan basketball being good.
While it could have been set up, it sounded like at the beginning they were just advertising for the game on CBS. TNT and CBS both broadcasted the regional semifinal games IIRC.
So Chris Webber hired Ellerbe, Amaker, and forced the athletic department for years to ignore the obvious need for improvements to the facilities?
The sanction’s hurt but the downward spiral of the program didn’t have to be as bad was it was.
LOL at "CWEBB".
yup, just blame Webber and cast him as the lone scape goat for the program taking 20 years to reach the final 4 again. We are even lucky to be in the final 4 this year...what if it took us another 5 years to reach the final 4, would that additional time be Webbers fault also? And most of that letter was garbage. It was way too long, and I dont care what the professors personal experiences are and him trying to empathize with Webber by living vicariously because they were once certain age groups.
