Sparty's D-line recruiting should be of serious concern for them. They took 1 average 3 star DE and DT in 2012, and have no D-line commits for 2013.....and most of the elite regional D-Line for '13 are off the board. This current recruiting lapse in talent on their D-line maybe their downfall, as it could present numerous mismatches for strong O-lines with power running games in the B1G.
Dantonio's line recruiting has been very weak the last 2 years.
I would agree with the "who cares". What counts is on the field. However, MSU should be concerned as talent is being massed in A2, which will make it dificult for them to compete against in the future. The constant "we coach up" concept is old. While Coach D. has shown great ability to 'coach up', you cannot accomplish this year in and out against (a) top 5 recruiting classes, and (b) great coaches at UM.
Time will tell.

Going to put a list of who 247 says they have offered, so we can have a similar one to the OSU OL thread
Greg Webb - Penn State
Henry Poggi - Michigan
Elijah Daniel - Clemson
Tashawn Bower - Auburn
Billy Price - OSU
Maurice Hurst Jr. - Michigan
Deon Hollins - UCLA
A.J. Natter - Nebraska

Marquis Haynes - Louisville
Marcus Loud - Missouri

Can op edit this to post please? TIA.
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
Yep, I made it so the OP could add it and then edit it if players commit elsewhere. The OSU list has provided some laughs and I think this one would too.
If you care when MSU beats Michigan for 4 straight years then you should
That was the intent of the thread.....Many Sparty fans talk about the 2 deep and amount of depth currently on the defense. Given this year and last with D-line recruiting, that will be a mute point if they dont continually replenish the current talent which is lost.
With ppl that generally aren't highly touted, scraps, hence it doesn't matter and I don't care who they're recruiting
Doesn't matter. They have a redshirt program!
The only thing about the "redshirt program" is that you should be trying to recruit players that are good enough to play right away, and dont need to redshirt.....hence elite prospects
Honestly, the Spartans will fall to the middle of the pack in the next couple of years. With a resurgent PSU, Nebraska added to the fold, resurgent Michigan, and OSU ... ouch. Even Eastern Michigan is recruiting 4* players now!
Yep, and in addition to those factors they are not recruiting to re-supply their depth. I would not be surprised if Narduzzi leaves in 3-4 years, and Dantonio wont be able to take loosing to Michigan on a consistent basis again.
Wow, you guys have alot of time on your hands to go out of your way to pile a list of an opposing teams recruits. C'mon now some of you sound just as irrational as fans from MSU, ND, and OSU. Fact is Dantonio is a good coach that does an oustanding job of identifying players to play in their system, which at the end of the day is all that really matters. They will be fine.
Anyone who believes MSU will be beating UM this year is delusional. They have no OL and their QB hasn't thrown a meaningful pass yet. And remember that Fitz wasn't our every down back at that time last year either. Prediction: UM 35 MSU 17

Her only had 2 flipping carries that game.

Exactly ^....35-17 is being nice. I expect it really to kind of be like the 2011 Nebraska game.
What exactly has been irrational?
good lines are crucial, especially in the B1G, sparty is gona be in serious trouble if they can't pull in some talent
MSU is going to have an extremely good defense. Much better than Nebraska's last year.
Sounds like OSU's OL and MSU's DL are going to have some epic battles of mediocrity in a few years.
As long as we have Fitz healthy and there aren't 40 mph winds like last year I don't see there being a problem. Their offense won't be able to sustain drives; thus giving our offense more oppurtunites to score.
Wasn't Worthy a 3 star?
