Pretty good snag though...I honestly thought he would have offered a lot more Florida HS players since he was familiar with the schools, but he hasn't offered that many. surprising to me.
On a side note, Tennessee is doing well late in recruiting...I wasn't too keen on the HC hire (meaining I didn't see him as the coach that would get a fire lit) but he got WR North today, has the inside track on V Bell. Guess you never know..
Not that impressed with North
Would you trade not getting "Zeke" for getting Hurd next year...because I think you have a solid chance at him
I would love to get "Zeke", as he can do all of the things needed in Urbans offense, I'm not as familiar with Hurd since he's 2014. I'm an old guy, so I believe "a bird in hand....." So I'll take "Zeke" if he still wants to come and hope we still have a shot with Hurd. Not a done deal though as his parents are both steering him hard to Mizzou (their alma mater).I'm not one to give up one this year for a "chance" at one next year. But then again, I'm not getting paid for my thoughts haha.... Good thing about the offense is more than one back will get plenty of carries.
Yikes, that's a tough question. EzE has been committed for a while and things look really good with Hurd so ill take EzE. Hurd aint scared and will look really nice in the Scarlet and Gray '14 class
In other news UFM just offered more scraps! Some OL committed to Nebraska. Guess he's trying to replace O'Connor which i didnt think he was going to
Poor Nebraska, everyone's raiding them now. Us, Kentucky, wherever Braylon Heard goes, now you guys are trying to get in on it too...
Alot of people seem upset by the offer thinking he will never play, only 2 years left etc which is hilarious to me. Like they know more than our millionaire coaching staff
Great question. To me Hurd looks like the next Eddie George, so I'd take Hurd over Zeke when it comes to pure talent. We have a shot at Hurd, though I'm admittedly a bit surprised he's open to playing in a Spread offense, but Butch Jones is doing big things at TENN (to my surprise), so he could end up with two classes suddenly including: Marquez North (13), Vonn Bell (13), Jalen Hurd (14), and Josh Malone (14). Then again, if Butch brings a TENN team out on the field that completely bombs next year, he could be in the same spot Dooley was faster than he can say Rocky Top.
But yeah, I like Hurd a bit more than Zeke -- maybe because I'm a sentimental Eddie George fan, and when I see a 6'3" 210+ lb RB with vision, an impressive natural stride, and an ability to consistently break tackles, my eyes light up. The rivals guys don't think we have a shot at Dontre Wilson (not overly surprising), so I think it'll come down to Zeke or nothing this year! They think he'll stick with OSU, we shall see!

Sounds like OSU is going to strike out on any more OL this year, according to this.
The Ozone, The Buckeye Fans source of timely Ohio State Football, Basketball, Hockey and Baseball information, statistics, rosters, and commentary. fan reactions, recruiting commentary, fan polls, and interviews.
Yeah, once Cam Hunt decided he was staying west coast, there aren't really any more options.
They are done at OL for this year, if they have to move anyone over from the DL it would probably be Munger or Price. If there are no injuries I don't think we'll need to move anyone as we have enough OL on depth chart at this moment. Who knows...fingers crossed.
Have one commit for '14 now, with another "heavy lean" from Trout. So I think we take 5 OL next year, we'll see. We may be left with "scraps" though...
Especially with Skipper going to Arkansas and Nebraska's JUCO commit telling Urbs to gtfo
well.....I don't think he really said GTFO...haha....Urbz just got in way too late...and maybe the kid didn't want to be the one to make Bo Pelini be a headline on CNN for taking the rest of his recruits hostage and shooting at opposing coaches..
On the other hand, KC McDermott did tell Urban to GTFO, so...yeah.
But really, unless Urban pulls in at least 4 top-quality OL commits in 2014, you're going to have some MAJOR depth problems down the line.
We're still used to Bollman's OL recruiting, so it's really nothing new.
Time and change will surely (truly) show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!
That made me harcore lol
But we all know Meyer will get the OL we need next yr. with us at 82 ships and starters in place on the OL we aren't going to get a bunch of top end recruits sold on PT but next yr everyone will want to be on board .
I'm sure we will get more than enough OL and beat Michigan for the 11th time in 13 yrs.
Urban didn't get even close to the number/quality of OL you wanted this year, what makes you so convinced he'll be able to do it next year?
Also, KC McDermott is pretty clear evidence that no, not everyone will want to be on board.
I think most Buckeyes are worried that for whatever reason, Urban can't close the deal for OL.
Considering he needed the biggest scandal in CFB history to land one OL and he had to hire a position coach to land another last year, there's some justifiable concern. Absent those two things, Decker and O'Connor are not members of the 2012 OL class, and they have to go in with Dodson, Elflein, and Boren as their only OLs.
Cmon, MOST?! No way. The fans i see flipping out are the neurotic ones that see all the OL you guys have in this class and wonder why we have so few. Only a fool would be concerned about UFM's recruiting. We have plenty of OL this year and will have a solid haul next year with 2 in the bag already...basically(Trout)
Only OL i recall seeing the staff go hard after was Dorian and Pocic before he chose LSU early. Didnt even really seem like they went hardcore on Dawson who i really wanted just to stick it to you guys Even after Dorian chose Pitt they never gave any OL the treatment they gave Mitchell and Trey etc at that time or Dontre and Clark recently. OL recruiting this year wasnt really emphasized. Next year it will be and i expect a very solid OL class and '14 class in general

He had 2 months to recruit AND put together a staff last year!
I think there has to be a question in most top OL recruits minds about getting to the NFL in Meyer's system. I think if Fragel does well in the NFL, and some of the upcoming seniors get decent draft reviews there may be a swing in the ability to land some top OL. I would say the same for UM and landing a top WR. If Gallon, or Funchess, or some other WR has a huge year you may see a top WR begging to come to the Big House. As long as The Game is good, and the winner has dibs on B1G bragging rights I could care less about OL, WR, head coaches, etc.
Yes i would do that trade. that being said, i think we get Hurd next year so i sure hope Zeke stays !
