Ditto. I think we win by 10-14 points subject to no excessive TOs. I think we can afford to go -1 in TOs against Sparty, but more than that and it becomes a dogfight. I don't want a dogfight this year.
I truly believe we're going to handle MSU. I don't think saying this game is MSU's superbowl is a good argument for them. We want this game just as bad as they do. We know we need to win it for the Legends division. Same applies for the game against you guys. While you won't have a bowl and we're your last game no matter what, Hoke has these kids hating OSU so much that the effort will be equally maximized on both sides. Talent and schemes seldom change.
I've watched MSU a bunch this year and love our matchup against them. I am confident we'll stop Bell. I see our DL and LB's stepping up due primarily to their O-line blowing. Then you have mediocre Maxwell and a core of receivers who are not good other than Burbridge. Their defense is solid, but both Bama's and ND's are better from what I've seen. We'll control most of that game.
Ahh it's funny because our offensive line is the strength of our team!!!!!!
Keep clinging to things, Skunks
Dion Sims scares me. I don't know if anyone on our D can match up with him.
Jake Ryan is more than fast enough and has done a good job in coverage this year. It's a bit tougher if Sims gets matched up with a CB, but we did a very good job on Tyler Eifert in the ND game and he and Sims are comparable as receivers.
Do we help him up into the tower? Helicopter him up? or Just wait for him down below? haha...
DUDE!! You must be an only child, anyone with siblings has to be able to pass Sarcasm 101....
in before the david dawson and dorian johnson commits and subsequent lock
Dawson will likely end up at MSU if he stays up north.
Dawson goes to Ohio...your correct. Its the Karma for us signing Kalis, you get Dawson now.
How about now that you've played Nebraska, that we put 63 points on?
Meyer's system is designed to put up a lot of points. But why look at just offense? Let's focus on defense as well...
Ohio gave up 38 points to Nebraska at home. Meanwhile, Michigan gave up only 23 to Nebraska on the road despite not having a QB that could sustain drives (and limit the number of possessions that Nebraska received).
* * * N E O . R E T R O * * *
Would that be the same Nebraska that, despite repeated turnovers, put up 38 on you in the Shoe?

just a question....Which coach has a system that isn't designed to score points?? Is your offense not designed to score a lot of points??
Every play, if blocked as diagrammed could go to the house....so to say Urban's offense is "designed" to score more points than say Alabama's isn't necessarily correct...Urban chooses to spread out the defense and make them tackle in space...It's not necessarily saying the defense can't defend it thus scoring more points, although making college kids tackle on an island is more difficult than having 2 or 3 teammates at your side tackling a RB out of the I formation...
As you know, DRob is much more effective if he gets in a one on one situation with a defender...Alabama stuffed him by bringing multiple players at him...But most teams you face can't deal with him in space.
They did.....I was replying to the gentleman that was talking about our competition..so I mentioned a team that we both have played...
Would you have rather given up 23 to Nebraska and lost or given up 38 and won?
Sometimes it seems some of you prefer stats to wins...
I should have been clearer: Urban's offense creates more big plays, scores faster, and therefore allows for more possessions.
Also, I noticed that you still didn't touch on Ohio's defense.
That's a bullshit question.
Michigan didn't have the benefit of playing the entire Nebraska game with its #1 QB.
We've also both played MSU. You beat them 17-16 and we beat them 12-10. And we've also both played Purdue. You beat them 26-20 in OT. We beat them 44-13 in regulation. You are cherry picking the one game in which our starting QB was knocked out. Interestingly, you had the same problem against Nebraska in Lincoln last year. When Braxton Miller went down, your offense collapsed ... and UNL recorded their biggest comeback in school history. At least we didn't allow them to set any records against us.

Aww, Come on....records are meant to be broken.....haha
If you want to troll then get off our board and take it to tBB, it's as simple as that. You're a guest here, remember that.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Our defense definitely has trouble with a team that spreads it out and throws the quick passes because
1) This basically eliminates our DL play...ball gets out quick=no sacks/pressure
2) Our LB play has been bad, thus getting to the flats or covering RB in man hasn't been good
3) Early in the season, our DC's (Fickell/Withers) were playing a soft, keep it in front of you zone. All this did was allow teams to rack up yardage and go up and down the field on us.
Now, the last few games our defense has played much better at the demand of Urban saying he wants to see more press coverage, man up and get hits on the QB...
Against Purdue, our defense did play better against the short passing, our offense wasn't great, then Braxton went down in 3rd Qtr....Guiton did come in and engineer two drives for TD's (one in OT)
Against Nebraska and Penn State, honestly our defensive "dogs" were called off and there was no pressure put on the QB for their last couple drives...
Our defense is using a 4 year Fullback as its starting MLB, and with other injuries all of our "Next in" LB's are true freshman...so we will see some breakdowns on that side of the ball...
It hasn't cost us a game as of yet, it sure may, but it is learning curve for them and something we'll just have to deal with this year...we have some good D recruits coming in and this group will have another year under their belt for next year...This is the most freshman I've ever seen tOSU play significant minutes...14 Frosh so far this year have played in meaningful minutes....
Our game against you will come down to obviously two things....Make DRob throw the ball and hope you don't have a lot of Bubble Screens in your game plan..
LIghten up, I wasn't trolling....I was being light hearted about Nebraska setting a record for come back against us....
I don't know why it bothers buckeye fans when they are called Ohio.
