Haha, whichever man. And I prefer grape kool aid sir
Just like "most" Buckeye fans believe that Braxton can walk on water and can crap rainbows?
Go Blue and Go Titans!
I'm not talking shit...just the opposite...I don't see any way possible we can beat you guys....You're entire offensive line 3 deep sound like they will be starting in the NFL...and none of ours can block a box of tissue...
I believe, and it's just my opinion, that our line is playing better in their first year together than any line we've had in the last 10 years...but still probably not good enough to move any of your DL...but I can dream can't I?
And.... I'll take a couple "almost" losses instead of 2 definite losses...just sayin'
actually, just about every week in press conference, Urban has called out players that he is expecting more out of...that aren't producing to where the team needs them to....so, yeah, if Decker was a disappointment, Urban would have no problem expressing that....his PC's are so much better than Tressel's "Senator Speak"...
If the competition were equal, I'd agree. When we're playing Alabama and you're playing UAB, well...it's a different story.
You guys haven't beaten or played anybody yet this year. It's not even fair to compare what you have this year to past teams. Up to this point your schedule has been garbage and those teams have gave you all you could handle. EXCELLENT? against who? Alabama Birmingham?
It's going to be really funny if you lose to 1 of those nobodies Nebraska, Mich St or both. Ill give you Alabama but quit acting like ND, with no QB, is some elite team.
And the flamers are here
This is your only warning. Stop trolling, this isn't your board. I've let you have your fun, now leave.
I've seen way more Ohio State fans that are proclaiming that Braxton is the GOAT than Michigan fans are that proclaiming Morris to be an Heisman winner.
Ohio State fans were all to quick to point out Denard got most of his stats playing scrubs (nevermind the mob-like mentality over on BNs that running QBs couldn't last in the B1G (funny how that's change, eh?)), yet what "elite" teams has Braxton done amazing against?
I don't know about good losses but i definetly believe in bad wins. For example, MSU has had a couple of bad wins. The Eastern Michigan and Indiana wins were bad wins. Those games showed me that MSU is not a good team.
The best they finished was 4th in their conference through that time. "Very good" is a stretch my friend.
OSU will win 10 or 11 games this year, just like we did in year one under Brady Hoke. The real question is whether you will make any coaching changes on the defensive side of the ball after the season is over. Your defense took a minor step backward last year. Some of that probably had to do with the loss of the Vest, but IMO much of it was simply the fact your offense was awful the first half of the season due to having all your best offensive players suspended and having a true freshman QB. That put extra pressure on your D (and made it look worse statistically than it really was). But this year, for whatever reason, your defense has taken a further giant step backward. Urbie won at Florida with talented offensive skill players AND an excellent defense. He would not have won without both. And when he accepted the job in Columbus, the first person he should have retained was Jim Heacock. Why he didn't is anyone's guess, but the triumvirate of Fickell/Withers/Vrabel is not getting the job done. Does Urbie have the balls to admit he made a mistake and fire/replace some or all of them? We will see. But my prediction is that if all three come back to OSU as coaches next season, OSU will continue to struggle on D.

You have done it now MrWoodson. Brutus was swearing up and down that Ohio State's Defense was head and shoulders above Michigan's just a couple weeks ago.
Brutus needs to brush up on his math. Ohio State's defense is barely better than NW's.
B10 Teams - Total Defense
8. Michigan State (272.3 ypg)
19. Michigan (311.8 ypg)
21. Iowa (315.0 ypg)
23. Minnesota (320.8 ypg)
28 Wisconsin (338.0 ypg)
32. Penn State (349.2 ypg)
37. Illinois (351.3 ypg)
48. Purdue (365.4 ypg)
49. Nebraska (367.0 ypg)
60. Ohio State (386.5 ypg)
66. Northwestern (392.2 ypg)
94. Indiana (444.0 ypg)
OSU has a lot of talent.
Just not much of of it is on the OL.
Arguing which team is better is like pissing in the wind. Both fan bases love their teams and will never admit when one is better. Let the players and coaches do the talking for us!

"Success - it 's what you do with what you've got."
"The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender."
I have posted a few times over here and have always had good conversations, probably because I only get into the civil parts of the threads with people who seemingly want to have actual football conversation. This is an outstanding post and point very well taken. Last year I thought was the anomaly, with everything going on and the loss of Rolle, Homan, Checkwa, and others I was certainly willing to give a pass to a group that played with a lot of heart, but fell short of expectations. Even early this year I was willing to give a handful of games to allow the new philosophy to kick in. I really thought after the MSU game that the group had turned the corner and after last week it is clear that isn't the case. Tackling is still an issue, we still have communication issues in the back half and these are things that should have been corrected by now. I agree with you that Urban is going to have a few tough decisions to make after the season if this group doesn't make marked improvement over the rest of the year. The thing is I see no reason to believe it will happen. This group on paper probably is the most talented defensive unit in the B1G but are performing like Indiana. Next year I believe the talent on the field will be there on both sides of the ball to make a run at a conference and national title, the question for me is, other than Urban will the talent be on the sidelines for such a run?
He was being entirely sarcastic.
To me there is a difference between a team like Michigan maybe not playing as well as they could of against Air Force and a team like MSU looking like crap all year and barely beating Eastern and Indiana. Those games show me that MSU really isn't that good this year. I would be shocked if MSU ran the table and made the Rose Bowl.
OSU has as much defensive talent as anyone in the B10. I could understand a slight dip with coaching changeover, but not as much as you have had. If PSU can still put a halfway decent defense on the field with everything they've been through, OSU should be able to do at least as well. Maybe we will see a big improvement by OSU's defense in the second half of the season (I hope not!), but I'm skeptical that Fickell or Withers are the right guys for the job. And I agree that the LB and DB play is the problem. Bad angles, missed tackles, overrunning assignments ... it's eerily similar to what we saw at UM in 2008 and 2009 (though nowhere near as God awful as our D was in 2010).
Absolutely. Your offense has been great and has saved you. So have TOs. And that punt return for a TD against UNL was huge when it happened. But the lack of defense will come back to bite you eventually. It always does.
I remember that play very well. It was Mumphrey (sp?) and he broke several arm tackles and dragged 2-3 Buckeyes all the way to the endzone for a TD. The Bucks were busy trying to strip the ball but in the process forgot to stop him or tackle him. If it wasn't for a perfectly thrown pass by Braxton Miller on the next series, you might have lost the game because of it.
MSU/UM ... IMO, on paper, we should win relatively easily. Our offense is similar to yours, but our defense has been playing much better. And the game is in AA not EL.
BUT ... it's a rivalry game and I expect MSU to get up 100% for the game and play better against us than they have all year (much like you guys did last year). And we all know Denard can turn the ball over multiple times if he's not careful, so I would be lying if I said I wasnt a little nervous. IMO if Denard turns the ball over once or less, I think we win by two TDs. If he turns it over two times or more, it could be a nailbiter. I don't see MSU having the horses to blow us out, especially with our defense, but if we shoot ourselves in the foot with turnovers like we did against ND, MSU's defense is good enough to prevent us from pulling away and it could end up very close just like your game against them.
