Bucknuts are a logical well rounded group pft
When you have playmakers, you don't need a line.
They will get theirs but I have a hard time seeing who those guys will be... I think Pocic goes to Illinois personally
We don't have any 3 stars
Dang right ohio has no 3 stars. It has a lot of tats... that's all toodles.
You have 5 commits so that's not that an impressive stat. When you guys get to 15+ let's see if that's still the case. As things stand right now if you guys plan on taking more than one olineman you will have some 3 stars.

Not if he offer LTT and Kugler, they would probably go to OSU immediately.
LTT did get offered, Bosch didn't. However, your probably right, those two would flip immediately.
tOSU better be concerned with BAMA for Pocic.
Now that's what I like to hear.
This is legit happening. Urban doin work. Marcell Lazard. Another 3*.

What is? Pocic to Bama? I had thought Illinois was the last non-OSU refuge for him.
I had a feeling they were going to get him.
Nope, apparently Pocic recently visited Alabama and left with an offer. He also visited Auburn, FSU, and Florida while down there.
OSU fan here and I agree with most of the UofM fans. For all the fancy schemes that are out there, football in my mind is still won or lost at the line of scrimmage. The team that blocks the best and tackles the best is going to win most games. There's no question that OSU is in a tight spot with regards to getting quality O-Lineman to commit in this class. Time will tell....perhaps they are hoping to "catch lightening in a bottle" with someone not as highly rated. Also a Browns fan and it's tough to run any kind of offense when you can't protect your QB or open some holes for your backs.
I've heard rumblings that he may be interested in playing in the SEC. I don't know how valid that is.
Pocic is an OSU lock according to bucknuts.
Not trying to flame, but what do you think is behind OSU's weak OL recruiting so far in this class?
I wouldn't mind that happening, anywhere but osu.
I have no idea....I don't follow recruiting other than what I read on these boards. Just my opinion but some of it may be tied to the previous coaching staff. Tressel and Bollman didn't do a very good job recruiting O-lineman themselves. The last good O-lineman OSU sent to the NFL has been Nick Mangold and that's been quite a few years ago. The much celebrated Block-O class that just finished up their eligibilty did not live up to expectations. Mike Adams may go late in the first round but that's based as much on his size and potential as anything he did at OSU. Perhaps OSU has dropped some as a destination place for top O-Lineman. Meyer needs to shore up this area especially in-state as usually Ohio will produce some quality O-lineman each year. For an OSU fan to say he is not concerned about our current O-line and our slow pace in recruiting O-lineman is just disengenious. Everything you do on offense begins up front and hopefully Meyer can turn it around but currently we're obviously lagging behind in this area.
I wouldnt call it "weak" persay, id just say that Michigans OL recruiting has been very strong. As rivals we always tend to put our strengths out there and call out what we think is weak with the other guy. Lazard and Lisle regardless of stars had pretty nice offer lists. ( 1 or both were offered by MIchigan at some point, right?). I think we will end up just fine OL wise...it wont be an amazing crop of 5 or 6 , 4-5* guys but it will be quality athletes that can contribute. Its still early in the process. These kids all have another year to rise or fall in the rankings, plus we all know some studs cans fail at the next level, while other kids will step up. We will be strong at recruiting some other positions this go round, and perhaps have our "elite" OLine class in '14, but who knows.
Lisle was offered but Lazard was not. How many are you looking to take on the OL this year?
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
The concensus opinion is that we take 3, unless we get interest from one of those type of kids you just cant turn away....so 3 is a good bet, w Pocic being obviously the key. I don't see much of a fall back plan as of yet if Pocic goes eslewhere.Maybe an Ohio kid has a break out senior year and jumps on the radar...heres to hoping anyway.
Im not sure what effect running a spread offense has on O linemen, im sure to some point it does. I think kids getting a look at how the offense runs this year will go a long way.
Yeah, I still wish that we would have made room for Pocic, kid is a good one. Does he have a decision date set? It's just crazy to me that the Midwest is loaded with OL this year and it appears that Urban's having a hard time locking some of them down. I think eventually he'll get some but it looks like some recruits are taking a wait and see approach regarding your OL's scheme and on the field performance JMO.
I think that is Pocic's big hesitation in this. Being in a spread is a different OL mentality.
