Obviously our highest 3 recruits are McQuay, Green and Treadwell. McQuay being the most likely. But we have had recent offers go out to Cameron Hunt, Kenny Lacey and I really think James Crawford is going to get an offer this Friday.
Let's say Green, Treads and McQuay wait till NSD or close to and Hunt, Lacey take their officials in December and commit on site. We couldn't deny both if we didn't want 2 guards, could we? Also if Crawford does get an offer, he will most likely commit. No I don't have proof, just twitter talk and rumors.
So let's say we land Hunt, Lacey and Crawford and it finishes off the class. Is this a possible situation. While this wouldn't be horrible, I would be very disappointed because I feel we have a great shot at landing McQuay and decent with Green. Treads is gone. Le'ts not forget we are still working on Conley, and there is a decent chance he comes back.
Anyone else worried that we put out too many offers, and this class fills out before the biggums decide?
We won't take 2 more OL. It'd be a huge mistake.
And we probably have at least 4 more spots left.
Green and Treadwell for sure have a spot no matter what. So let's just say that they do.
Two more spots. One OL and one DB, either Crawford or McQuay.
Basically four schollies for an OL and then the best available.
Crawford has been told by coach Montgomery upfront that they are waiting on mcquay before offering. So unless the coaches know they are out of it, Crawford won't get an offer tomorrow.
I'd be shocked if we take 3 more DBs. They're all great players, but we won't have room for all 3.
Do you think we would take Hunt or Lacey if they both wanted to Commit?
I'd probably prefer Hunt, but both are pretty comparable players.
I don't think they will accept two more OL commits unless and until it is certain we are not getting McQuay, Green or Treadwell. Also, I'm not sure 25 is a hard cap. Depending on what Lewan does and a couple other question marks, we might be able to get to 26.
FWIW the coaches also have been circling back on guys like Tashawn Bower and Ty Isaac and there is a rumor they are talking to juco QBs. They wouldn't be doing that and giving out entirely new offers if we didn't have any room.

Conley seems like a WR candidate if the Treadwell recruitment continues along its current path.
I don't know how anyone can say taking 2 more OL would be huge mistake. Especially after our OL play this year. We need way more depth on the OL and that is a huge reason why our OL sucked this past year. With Bryant going down we had 5 upper classmen, 1 redshirt freshman and then walkons and true freshman for the OL. What I am saying is our coaches had absolutely no options once the year went on and the OL wasn't playing well. There was nobody to try to see if they would perform better.
Next years numbers aren't any better especially with it looking like Lewan is gone. Taking 10 OL in 2 years would not be a bad thing in my opinion.

There has been chatter that our coaches are talking with Jordan Cunningham's teammate Dionte (DJ) Allen again.
McQuay is an early enrollee and will be announcing at the AA game at the latest.
One OL will get a spot...first to commit.
Green, McQuay, and Treads all have pretty much guaranteed spots.
I am with the other guys about only taking one more O linemen. It sounds like Hunt is the one ready to commit. I believe Lacey still has some other visits planned.
Taking 6 OL in this years class doesnt solve the issue, because its an issue in the present, and any 2013 OL we currently take wont porduce until 2015 at the earliest, and more then likely 2016. The OL will be significantly better by that time beacuse of last years class and the current 4 (soon to be 5) we will take in '13. The depth and play making ability will conitnue to increase now as we move along, and we are fine with taking 5 this year. The real lack of depth is at skill positions, who could actually contribute as early as next year....WR and RB is a more crucial need right now.
I am very aware that it wouldn't fix the issue next year. I don't want it to ever be an issue again. Taking 6 OL would not be a mistake in my opinion.
