Epic with your LS situation......Star, how many games are you expecting to win this season? I think 6 games would be formidable, and do you feel going .500 will disrupt this recruiting class, and/or when Brian Kelly becomes apoplectic?
7/8 wins is what I've prepared myself for. I think this class is a very close knit group and don't see many jumping ship. If all hell breaks loose and we win 3 games, who knows?
Don't worry man, I'm a secondary UH fan, you don't know what crappy recruiting is like at all.
Those don't look updated, they still show OSU with a 5*.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
They gave Joey Bosa a 5th star.
No. That is far too logical and easy to understand.
Is it biased to say Taco is just as good?
Sorry, but if you need three paragraphs and a graph to explain how you add up player scores to get team scores the method is too complicated.
They have a new way of calculating team rankings now. They use the composite score.
I know. So it's now even more complicated than before. And if you look at the new composite Top 247 the stars are out of order. I hope they didn't pay the programmers too much for this update.

LOL at MSU in 9th in the B1G...I know ,I know.....stillbeat us 4 x blah blah blah
What do you mean? I'm not sure I see what you're saying, although you are on the mobile site and I'm not.
Honestly, I may be in the minority, but I like the idea of composite rankings. I'd like a bit more transparency with the algorithm, but considering that 247 is probably doing a lot of this to steal even more market share from the other recruiting websites, I don't think we'll get to see much transparency.
Yeah, look at mobile. Dee Liner is #13 in the new Composite Top 247. He is a 4 star listed ahead of a whole bunch of 5 stars.
At the end of the day, does it really matter if we finish first, second, or fifth?
I mean, it kind of does, it's all about perception isn't it? True or not, the perception is that the SEC dominates the football world and everyone else (especially any team in the B1G) is playing in the kiddie game down the street. That perception affects media coverage, rankings, bowl selections, and it's sure to affect this playoff committee's selections and seedings...and obv all of that affects recruiting and on-the-field results. If Michigan has the #2 or the #5 class (esp if Alabama or Florida winds up #1), then that's cool but it feeds into the perception that we're never quite going to get over the hump and be the best, and that perception can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. There's something about having the #1 class that breaks that barrier though. If you watched coverage of The Opening on ESPNU, Michigan was still ranked #1 then, and when the announcers were talking about it you could tell how impressive they thought that was and how much bigger of a deal it was than if we had been #2.
So, yeah, I think it matters. It's not the sort of thing that makes or breaks the world, but it is important.
Man, I don't know. You are reaching IMO. Perception means nothing if you don't win on the field. We could have the 25th ranked class, but if we won every game, it wouldn't matter what people's perception is.
I think it just matters to recruits. It's common knowledge that good players want to play with other good players, so it's a little feather in the cap for Shane to be able to reach out to recruits and say something like "Join the BEST recruiting class in the country!" (which he did repeatedly after the 1st ESPN rankings came out). I think it honestly resonates more with recruits than anyone else, and fortunately, recruits are who matter here. Whether the #1 recruiting class means anything to any fans or outsiders doesn't matter at all.
