2014 OL commit Denzel Ward updates his recruitment with Luke Stampini of GatorBait.
Florida continues their hot pursuit of Michigan 2014 offensive line commit Denzel Ward.

See ya Ward.
Nobody on this board can define the word regression.... but it sure gets used a lot.
Just decommit already. OL is a luxury at this point, and he seems to want FL more.

He won't need to, the coaches will do it for him if they choose.
Meh. Not a position of need, and we have as good or better candidates. If he wishes to go, see you later, best wishes.
Best of luck to him. I can see how we aren't a good fit if he wants early playing time, considering our past two offensive line classes.

I get that it doesn't look all that good. But all these "see ya" posts are kind of lame.
If he didn't have a strong interest in Michigan then he would've jumped at the UF offer. Instead he says that he still has UM #1 , and wants to re-connect with the staff.
Now maybe the staff has moved on, we don't know that, so it's better to just let it play out before starting with all this stuff.
I think he spoke with the UM coaches and they gave him until spring to decide if he wanted to remain committed or officially reopen (or something like that).
There is a reason our coaches sent an early offer to Denzel Ward. He is an incredible prospect with amazing upside. He has the potential to be a college All-American and then a franchise NFL LT or RT.
There are very few OL prospects who show such promise at such a young age. If you want to see Michigan have a dominant OLine (akin to Alabama's 2012 OLine), then we need players like Ward.
I think some of you have a warped view because the current Michigan coaching staff has excelled at OL recruiting. Just plugging in any 6'7" 300+ pounder will not yield results. If it was that easy, then every team would have a Taylor Lewan.
Also, players like Ward ensure that OL is not a position of need. This seems to have escaped some of you.
So I disagree with anyone that nonchalantly writes something like "see ya" as if the coaches will be able to cherry pick another 6'8" 285 pounder (with the potential to play at 325+ pounds).

Yea....take that all you glass half empty posters!!!!
Lets also step back from claims like "he has potential to be AA and a franchise NFL tackle". Every kid has "potential", few will actually BE ALL America.
I agree on the potential, I just assume all of the posts related to "see ya" are a result of not wanting to deal with drama for the next 12 months. An almost-commit to Purdue turns into a commit for us within a week of offering, then he starts having second thoughts when Florida offers, then moves to Florida without telling our coaches? Major red flags no in this one no matter how high the upside is, IMO. This one is going to be a battle until February 2014.
I suppose Sparty needs to churn some trouble. With Michigan trying to poach Harris.
