Dammit. Well, he will be better off in the long run, but sucks for him. Wish him a speedy recovery.
I'll agree with this. Godin is going to be a very solid player for us for his career. I don't think he will ever be an All-B1G performer but he will be a very solid and reliable player who can bring it at a few different spots. I'm excited to see what he can do. He is the exact type of player that you need to win tough ball games late in the year in this conference.
How can a medical redshirt be applied?
Think it will be a regular redshirt. From what I read you need to compete in at least a 1/2 games to get a medial redshirt.
Damn. Hopefully he will bounce back.
. Good thing we got a lot of SDE/3Tech types last year. Strobel or Godin will pretty much certainly be in the rotation this year.

medical RS isn't really an issue here, if he were to miss another season due to injury down the road he would be a good canidate for a 6th year though.
Yeah, a medical RS is a) rare, and b) only applies to someone who gets injured after they've already redshirted once.
wrong, you can't redshirt twice no matter what. You can apply for a 6th year but you don't get an extra RS. And only players that redshirted due to an injury (Wormley) would be elgible for that 6th year if they get injured again. Arrington was a medical RS, Crable was a medical RS. Gardner should have been but apparently he played too much or they changed the rule so we don't know for sure yet. The list is actually fairly long.
