The schedule certainly does set up a possible NC run. I'll be at the Utah game, and I agree that the BYU (or maybe Northwestern?) game has the best possibility of being a night game

I don't think anyone would appreciate seeing a night game vs BYU... 2015 Northwestern on the other hand? Yes, please.

Nobody on this board can define the word regression.... but it sure gets used a lot.
Development of Morris and/or Speight is the key. Everything else looks solid throughout the roster.
Not sure if I agree there. We know what we're getting in Morris. It won't take more than a glorified game manager to guide our 2015 roster through that schedule. Only a bust worthy season from both could spoil the run.
Revenge for the '84 Holiday Bowl on a big stage during primetime?
We don't know what we are getting with Morris yet. We have an idea, but that is as far as I would go.
Would you accept as fact that he'll be better than our current backup situation and have better field vision than Denard? I think that's all it would take to get us through most of that schedule unscathed. In fact, I think we could make it through all but 3 of those games with Roushar at OC just running up the middle all game.
Field vision, no. I think he will, but it isn't a fact at this point. I think he will be good, potentially great, but it is an unknown at this point.
That's a lot of teams out west, but we already knew about those. Good thing is we get arguably the toughest three opponents (NW, MSU, and OSU) at home.
Think we need to ask Steve Helwagen before we get all excited about the possibilities of a NC.
My on the above debate about Morris/Speight as first year starters in 2015 ...
First year starters are a crapshoot and almost always make more mistakes than veterans. But they can be extremely successful when protected by a great OL and surrounded by tons of weapons. By 2015, UM will have as good of an offense ... OL, WR, TE, RB ... as any team in the country. And we will have a top 10 defense. A first year starting QB can't walk into a better situation. If Shane Morris and Wilton Speight are the "weakest links" on the team, we will be in very good shape.

Because I'm bored:
QB - Shane Morris
RB - Derrick Green
FB - Wyatt Shallman
WR - Drake Harris
WR - Amara Darboh
TE - Devin Funchess
LT - Eric Magnuson
LG - Kyle Bosch
C - Patrick Kugler
RG - Kyle Kalis
RT - Ben Braden
WDE - Taco Charlton
3-Tech - Henry Poggi/Wormley
NT - Ondre Pipkins
SDE - Chris Wormley/Strobel
SAM - Mike McCray
MIKE - Joe Bolden
WILL - James Ross
CB - Blake Countess
CB - Jabrill Peppers
SS - Dymonte Thomas
FS - Jarrod Wilson
That looks, on talent alone, with that schedule, like a NC team.
I'll probably go to the Utah game as well.
Easy 5 hour drive to SLC for me, so there's no reason not to go. Must remember to bring your own beer, though. Them Utah folks aren't kind towards good beer.
Yeah that state is weird.
Revenge for a 6-4 team losing to an unbeaten Cougar squad. Seems a little ridiculous. We had absolutely nothing to play for and one of Bo's worst teams. I'll pass, give me the Northwestern game please.
I didn't say it was a good reason, just a reason.
Looking forward to seeing the Beavers in person. I wonder what MSU will look like in 2015. Think Narduzzi is still running their D?
By 2015, sparty will be eatin' a D.
Narduzzi is too good of a coach to stay there forever. It's not like a Texas situation where the job is prestigious enough to keep the DC there in hope they get the HC job when the main man retires.
You forgot Hurst...it seems everyone forgets about Hurst who may have the most upside out of anybody on the DLine in the past 2 classes
