According to sources, Michigan has offered the son of Tyrone Wheatley. The elder Wheatley is the RB coach with the Buffalo Bills but was previously the RB's coach at Syracuse. Wheatley Jr. is a 2015 prospect that's already 6-foot-6, 235 pounds and plays tight end and defensive end. We'll have more soon. Profile linked.
YES!! smart move coaches.
Thanks Clint. Any early indicators whatsoever on where you think he'll be ranked when the time comes?
Excellent, excellent. He won't be a RB like dad, but he sounds like a beast.
Bet dollars to donuts he comments...

Wheatley was offered (at least) sometime late last week if not earlier. I think I tweeted it out on Friday/Saturday but forgot to post a thread on it; I think I was on the road. My fault. Hoping to get him for an interview sometime soon.
He may not be a running back but I'd be willing to bet he's fast for a beast.
Great! Really was hoping they would offer soon. Great size for a TE or DE. Sounds like he has decent hands. Nice that his Dad went to the pros so he's not recruiting him to his current employer (unless it's Michigan in 2 years).
I would love to see a fast DE who can get his hands up and bat down passes like JJ Watt. If Jr. has his dad's reflexes, he'll be swatting passes left and right.
According to a tweet from Angelique a few days ago, Senior absolutely wants Junior in Ann Arbor.
but also said JR's mother is in charge of his recruitment. Still should have a good shot here
He knows what's up.
FWIW, the Wheatelys have lived in Ann Arbor until seventh grade, I went to school with Junior (he goes by TJ), he has always been huge and is a big Michigan fan. I don't see any way he doesn't end up at Michigan.
Thanks for the info! sounds awesome!
Here's something that many are overlooking: Tyrone Wheatley Sr. has two other sons besides Jr.

Good question. Its pretty early so its tough to say but I think he can develop into a good player at either tight end or defensive end. I think he's pretty explosive and obviously has good size but he's still getting used to his body as its growing right now. If I had to take rank him right now, I'd probably rank him in the high three's to low four-star.
Some of you must feel old knowing that Tyrone's son is about to play college football
I was only alive for his senior season
So it looks like our 2015 class is almost done...
Gotta admit ... Ty Wheatley, George Campbell and Mike Weber would be a heck of a start.
I saw him play a couple high school playoff games, including the state finals. He's one of my all-time favorite Wolverines.
Lets definitely not forget one of my favorite 2015 prospects RB Damien Harris, and some local 2015 talent in Josh Alabi and Brian Cole!
