So he can block down field for Malik?
I saw the tweet. IMHO .... I stand by what I said before ... if Bailey commits before him ... Michigan should take Bailey's and close WR for '13. I love our class thus far. Commit when you know and have the chance, and avoid the "put my cap on during NSD" crap. LT is entitled to his time. Michigan is entitled to take elite kids when they want to commit.

If Bailey commits then I'll be happy that the guy, who has only visited once, and only appeared on the radar a few months ago, likes Michigan enough to commit. Not to bring down Treadwell, but he's visited Michigan numerous times and has been talking to the staff since last year, it's not like the staff didn't give him a chance.
Curious if you guys see Bailey as being as elite as Treadwell? Treadwell just screams NFL receiver to me, if he turns into Braylon Edwards in a few years I think you guys might be wishing you kept just one spot open for him.
I still think there's a very real possibility we would take two more WRs.
IMHO ... the decision on who to take right now is based on some factors we are not sure on ...
1. The number of spots left in 2013 .... is it 2 or 3? This is a big item, as it changes the dynamics on how you recruit and the position. IF we have 2 spots left, I suspect 1 goes to a WR, and the other either a RB, WR, or CB/DL.
2. Multi-skilled players .... It seems to me the coaches like players that can play more than 1 spot/discipline. Clearly, this changes the dynamics of the type of player we recruit, and the primary position we recruit.
3. Coaches perception on taking first-come, first-serve in terms of elite talent. Meaning, if a Fuller and McQuay said I want a spot right now, I bet we would take them on shut down '13 recruiting right now.
4. Attrition. Is there more we are not aware about?
Many, many factors.
When Shane starts chucking it someone WILL turn into Braylon like. Its just a matter of who wants to be the man
Not necessarily. In high school, OL are likely to play DL as well and the same goes for CB's/WR's. It seems like the standout two way players are Jourdan Lewis and Chris Fox but that's about it.
Jake Butt doubles as a DE. Mike McCray doubles as a TE. Dymonte doubles as a S/RB. Gedeon's also a RB. Poggi's a TE.
Most of the non-line, non-QB players seem to play both ways because they're usually the best athletes the schools have and it's beneficial to always have them on the field.
I definitely wouldn't mind our last 2 being Bailey and Treadwell.
Although, my dream last 2 are Treadwell and Derrick Green.
My FANTASY last 2 are Isaac and Cravens de-commiting from USC and coming to us.

Yes, but we're saving a spot for him.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Exactly my point. This is a factor in how and who they are recruiting right now ... IMHO.
Meh, whatever happens, happens. I've prepared myself mentally of him not being in this class.
Hope he still is blue though, would love to have him.

i'll be happy with treadwell and rodgers to end the class. i think bailey is not coming to michigan so theirs really not another wr that can take treadwells spot. i doubt they give it to paul harris over treadwell they will just wait. just him tweeting that shows his interest in michigan. hes thinking about the wr situation at michigan.
Actually, i'd be more than satisfied if Michigan's final commits are Mcquay and Bailey. Because that could potentially create a pipeline to Armwood, which is one of the premier HS programs in the country. It'd be very nice to take a player from that school regularly.
I think when you have two very good prospects you really are splitting hairs when asking if one is more elite than the other. Bailey can do somethings better than treadwell. And treadwell certainly has check marks over Bailey in other things. You certainly can't turn down one waiting on the other because it just is not smart business. Ultimately I think everyone would prefer treadwell.
I think we could, for sure. I'd love for the coaches to lock down Bailey, especially if that can help with McQuay. That would be a nice package. Then they can save a spot until NSD for LT, unless Mathis comes calling first, however unlikely.
I love Treadwell, but I think Bailey is my favorite guy on the board right now. Would be very happy to get either though (and obv would be ecstatic over both).
