according to the Universities twitter account, Lewan will stay at Michigan for his senior year.
This deserved its own thread. I am so happy it's unreal. Really alleviates some of my concerns for next year.
Wow, completely unexpected! Great news!
I was so worried about our OL. I am no longer worried.
LT: Taylor Lewan
LG: Kyle Kalis
C: Jack Miller
RG: Mike Schofield
RT: Ben Braden
That is a beautiful line
So relieved!! So does this mean we still go after a 6th OL?
I remember when we first started debating this on the message boards before the season ended and I said Lewan is the type of kid that loves college, loves his teammates, loves this university, and that he would be back. The NFL will always be there, but college eligibility won't.
I'm not going to lie, I was really scared of who was going to play LT next year. Thank you Taylor for coming back!
I am so frickin' thrilled!!!!! This improves expectations already for next year. I was hoping but not expecting. Has made my evening!

Any early predictions on 2013 starting OL. I really don't have much insight on it just curious. So pumped that it will include one of the top left tackles in the country.
He trolled the media pretty good.
Said that he 'I heard good news from the advisory board, I proved I can play in the NFL'.
11 National Titles | 42 Conference Titles | 3 Heisman Winners | 78 All-Americans | 37 College Hall of Fame Members
Lewan said he had lengthy conversation w Jake Long about this decision
Chantel Jennings @ChantelJennings
Lewan had a 30-40 minute convo with Jake Long. "Every single thing he said about staying at U of M went through my head countless times."
I'm in shock, what a love for the university and team he must have.
This is awesome. It's nice to have guys like Jake Long who really benefitted from coming back for his Senior Season. He would have certainly been a high 1st round pick, but he came back and was the #1 overall pick.
I'd say the left side is locked with Lewan and Kalis. Miller should be the starting Center, but the right side is up for debate.
There are a lot of possibilities. Who is more college ready? Ben Braden at RT or Burzynski/Bryant/Bosch at RG? That will determine whether Schofield can move inside where he belongs or stay at RT.
I think Braden plays RT and Schofield plays RG. Miller at C and Kalis at LG.
Man, this is great! No more worries about our LT next year. I'm sure Gardner is probably the happiest.
You are forgetting Magnuson as a possibility at RT as well. Also, don't sleep on Blake Bars battling for a spot on the OL as well.
I think they move Schofield back to LG. Solidify that side of the line. Lewan and Schofield had great chemistry there last season.
Taylor Lewan: "There was really no doubt in my mind that I had to be back at The University of Michigan."
I don't think Schofield is going to get bumped from tackle, he really rounded into form in the second half of the year.
