Per a few other sources, Michigan has gotten a commitment from Fort Myers (FL) Bishop Verot forward Ricky Doyle. He visited Michigan this weekend.
Doyle is a great pickup for Michigan. He is ridiculously underrated due to him not playing AAU and an injury during his high school season, but he has all the tools to be a great Big 10 player. He has great length and pretty good athleticism for a big man and unlike most of the big men the Michigan coaches have been bringing in, he has a nicely developed offensive game.
When he arrives on campus, he will likely be the #3 big man in the rotation behind Donnal and McGary. Doyle's game is a blend of what both McGary and Donnal provide so he will compliment both of them nicely.

thats exciting, I hope he likes to rebound! Doesn't seem like a guy that steps out and hits the three. More of a true inside guy. Some sites have him anywhere from 6'7- 6'9 hope he's the latter.
I hope we can add Edwards and Booker to this class.
Really, really, really want Booker. Really.
Rivals has a more resent video up of him. After watching it I'm very happy with this pick up. Mark is right, he has a very good offensive game. Kind of reminds me of a small mans Cody Zeller. Still has time to grow, kid wears a size 18 shoe!! Once again coach B and staff grabbing a kid who will likely blow up.
This is a really good pickup.
Does he play defense? Can he rebound?
If so, welcome aboard. I'm looking forward to watching the renaissance.
Seeing him unranked is scary but he is getting good reviews. We need a true big man that can play solid D block some shots and rebound with the best of him. If he's only 6'7"-6'9" idk if he is that guy...
I really want 2 of Booker, Chatman, or Edwards!
Can anyone maybe link a vid?
Edit: Nvm .. here you guys go (for those who havent seen any footage yet.)
I like him. He reminds me of Tyler Hansborough.
Positives to me are:
- Great hands.
- Good touch on his jumper.
- Good vision.
- True low block skills.
- Good timing on defense.
- Can he get his strength up?
- That competition seems hideous.
That's about it. He'll definitely blend in well with the other bigs we'll have.
A concern I have with Coach B's big man recruiting .. I think we're in desperate need of athleticism at the 5 spot. I'm not sure Doyle will fit that need, but that's not to say he wont be successful at Michigan, because I really think he will be.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I question a kid that these coaches offer. Very excited about Ricky's future here!
A very exciting commitment for Michigan. Doyle is not going to be a player that is high up on the rankings, but he has a lot of raw talent and could be a very good offensive player in the post. Imagining him and Donnal at the 4 and 5 together is very exciting, especially on offense. He will certainly need to size up to play in the Big Ten, but he has plenty of time and with Michigan's depth up front, he should get some time in college as well. Great pickup for Michigan.

He is exactly what we need at the 5 spot.
In a few years, Coach Beilein will be able to use the 4out/1in system to its max potential.

I am not one to doubt Beilein's talent judgment but in those highlight vids, he seems to be playing against children and guys who play a bit of hoops here or there. Can see why he's considered a bit of a sleeper.
Welcome to the program Ricky
Anyone that questions these coaches on recruiting any more is like questioning Nate Silver on election predictions.
Just watched highlights for first time. Kid looks pretty good. Athletic big man who can dunk thank god. Once he gets into the S&C program he could be a good one. Him along with Vince Edwards?
It's unclear right now.
I think Edwards is favoring Purdue but the Michigan offer may have changed that.
Michigan has offers out to SF Vince Edwards, SG Devin Booker, SG/SF Trevon Bluiett, and maybe do-it-all AJ Turner.

Not playing AAU probably affected the ranking thing. Similar to not attending camps in football.
Yeah that is what I have been reading. But Michigan needs a big man who can dominate at the 5 position! Doyle looks to be good offensive and all against the talent he plays against but when he comes to the big ten he is going to be playing against a lot bigger and more athletic guys. I think he will be more of a 4 player and maybe move robinson to the 3. I just can't see Doyle being the answer to our Big Man problems, but I do like this commit a lot as he has a very polished offensive game... I just want to know if he can rebound and play defense with guys in the B1G
