Authorities say a man who was arrested after spending 16 years on the run for allegedly shooting his estranged wife while she was holding their 18-month-old boy is the father of University of Alabama football signee Reuben Foster.
Wow, yikes. That's gotta have a big impact on his life in a tough way and hopefully he matures enough to be successful and rise above all that.
When was Rueben the 18 month year old baby that was mentioned in the article?
I believe so, yes.
One of the many reasons why I dislike most of the media. Do we really need to know the histories of these kids? Especially stories like this were it uses a recruit just to make the headline better. Pretty tasteless to air this kids baggage when he had nothing to do with it. Shameful on ESPN's part.
The woman survived didn't she? The article I read about this said she was quoted as saying she was sad and relieved at the same time. Unless they're talking about someone else he shot. Something pretty awful to go through regardless.

I'd love to know if he was caught because he tried to get in contact with his son....due to his high draft status? Or bragged about his "son" to the wrong person....
If you're shooting the mother of your child while holding him, you're probably just a fantastic person, so trying to capitalize on your sons fame would most likely be at the top of his dad's list. The timing of his arrest is definitely suspect with his sons signing to Alabama. What an awful up and down week for this kid.
