Do OSU fans honestly believe that Aaron Craft is significantly better than Burke?
I'm just...I can't even....what is happening???
"no way Burke is better then Craft. That has to be the stupidest statement ever."
I am so dumbfounded right now. I can understand if they think that Craft could be competitive with Burke. But to claim that Craft is untouchable when compared to Burke, I just can't even begin to fathom the mentality that this person has.
I'm not even searching for upvotes, I am genuinely flabbergasted right now...
welcome to the world of dealing with Bucknuts. That's a run of the mill statement for them, it's actually sad how misinformed and dumb they are.
I think Craft is a little better on the defensive end of the floor, but Burke has a much better offensive game than Craft IMO.
Burke is by far a better all around ball player than Craft.
Craft is good enough that a homer is gonna think he's as good as anybody at his position. I personally think it's silly to compare the two. They are two very different players who do what their team needs of them very well.
don't get us wrong either, last year OSU didn't need craft to do nearly as much as burke did... i would also OSU had a better all around team than us... nevertheless i dont understand the comment made by the user... it would be the same as saying quinton washington is better than jonathon hankins.... nothing about the teams, but one player is clearly better than the other... (just to clarify i am saying hankins>washington
I can see this viewpoint.
But the post essentially insinuated that it was laughable to think that Burke was even in the same conversation as Craft, which I found to be absurd.
Not sure if serious. Burke is a much better offensive player than Craft but Burke is not close to Craft defensively. I'm not really sure why it matters whose better because both are studs.
Burke is solid defensively. I would say Craft isn't anywhere near Burke offensively.
From an overall basketball player standpoint...Craft is not even on the same planet as Burke. All Craft brings to the table is the best on ball defender in the country...that's it
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
two completely different players that performs well for their respective teams...obviously a lot more upside for Burke to play at the next level with his far superior offensive skills...as much as I love Craft, Burke gets my nod as the better player...
yeah that's nothing, not a big deal at all. just the best on ball defender in the country. lmfao.
how about intangibles / leadership ? that's also not important for a point guard and craft certainly hasn't demonstrated that. where was burke's leadership when the mighty ohio bobcats beat his team? i think aaron craft was more focused on his final 4 trip..

you are really questioning Burke's leadership? How about the fact that he led a less talented Michigan team to a Co-Big Ten championship as a freshman. Burke hit numerous big shots towards the end of games to give Michigan wins.
what about the ohio bobcats? sorry I couldn't hear you over the ohio bobcats victory..
Right, so teams with good leaders don't lose. Come on bud, Craft won 6th man of the year....which means he was the 6th man...
Of course one game means more than the whole season.
Bucknuts are really skilled at being ignorant and classifying things based on a sample size of one. Lebron lost to worse teams in the playoffs for nearly a decade before finally winning, does he have no intangibles/leadership? Also, with your logic giving so much credit to the defensive side of the ball, Lebron must be better than Jordan, right?
I'm not going to answer who is the better player because I think it's fairly obvious and the country will see this year.
Well, yeah, that is pretty absurd. I would take Burke and think that by most arguments he is the better player.
But if one were picking a team from scratch, I could see taking Craft first depending on what you wanted out of your point guard.
I concur, and congratulate you (and several posters on this board) on taking a fairly open and honest look at this debate.
i don't understand your points at all? are you trying to compare aaron craft to lebron or michael jordan? who cares who's better. osu was a final 4 team, michigan was a one man show that couldn't beat ohio university bobcats, i think a better analogy would be allen iverson for burke. who cares how good he is he can't win.
Craft reminds me a lot of Chris Kramer. He is the kind of kid opposing teams hate but you love to have on your team because he's a great defender and makes a lot of the hustle plays. However, Burke is at another level and the more complete player. Great on offense which I think overshadows how well he did for us defensively. I can't think of a freshman PG who handled a team with as much poise as Burke did.
If you really want to compare wait until the end of this season when both players have had at least a year under their belts.
Haha. Burke managed a split of the Big10 regular season championship with far less talent around him than Craft.
Nope can't win. Just won a Big Ten title. Something Michigan hasn't done in a long long time.
How many NBA scouts wanted Craft to leave early? I didn't hear anything about him being anywhere near draft worthy. That should cover all of your leadership crap.
The last comment is going to be kept in my pocket for when we sweep your a$$ in basketball, and turn the shoe into slipper.
How about NBA caliber talent?

3/10/12 stat line for trey burke in his last game against ohio state: 1-11 from the field including 0-7 from the 3.
3/16/12 stat line for trey burke in (only) ncaa tournament appearance against ohio university bobcats: 5-15 from the field including 2-9 from the 3.
