Agree, I believe 247 is the only site saying it was an official. The others, and some Bama fans, say he visited a friend.

Did Michigan pull his offer? If its not his tweet or his account why hasn't he said anything? Never and i mean never trust a guy named "BIFF"!
I don't know him personally, but i know the type and he probably doesn't really give a shit what the fans think.
The coaching staff is pretty smart, so i don't think they are really in the dark and I'm sure Poggi and his Dad have talked to the coaches, but we might not know about it, because the coaches can't talk about it. There is so much crap flying around, i don't know whats true, or a guess.

This whole thing is odd. oh well if he leaves, great if he doesn't
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Found this tidbit from the Bama board. I don't buy it for a second that Bama would actually offer a top level DT a "gray-shirt". I get that Bama is unreal, but that is pompous even for them.
It now looks like Poggi has been offered a conditional greyshirt that turns Crimson IF one of the following falls off: Liner, Vanderdoes, Reed. This is why the father is not talking as he is waiting for this thing to play out.
The greyshirt would give him the time he needs to put on an extra 30 pounds to play DL or concentrate on the offensive side of the ball: C, G, TE.
We are in a waiting game and this is one of the most interesting stories as we go down the stretch.

How many times does a kid and his father have to tell you he is solid?????? The only site reporting this visit is official is 247 and so far I do not put a lot stock in that. Even Sam Webb feels the family has been honest about it. All of these rumors are nothing more than that - RUMORS!!!!!!! Seems the only other site saying anything is Alabama's pages. I won't even address what Ohio "fans" say as they are full of BS.
I don't buy for a second, either. I just thought it was funny their fanbase actually thinks a top DT would "gray-shirt" to Bama. I posted it more for humor purposes.
I know it sounds crazy but they have a top QB walking on to the program. It's just were there program is right now. With that said Poggi is blue!
That's crazy. Who does Bama think they're competing with, Ohio State?
The other point is that even THEN, Bama may not have room. To me it doesn't make any sense.
Nothing about this makes sense. If the Poggi's really are just waiting for a spot to open up at Bama, then they're really selling to UM that they are not. They're setting up all the scholarship stuff/paperwork with UM right now and if they can do this without the UM staff thinking they're wavering, then they should probably start a living as professional poker players. Either this whole thing has been blown way out of proportion, and there's nothing nefarious going on, or the Poggi's have been lying so well to the UM staff, that UM has no idea they are even considering Bama.
I don't put a lot of stock into some of the 247 rumors. I trust guys like Sam Webb and Tom VH a little more because they have been in the business a lot longer vs. some Bama analyst. Could be just trying to drum up subscriptions.
They aren't. The only time they have commented since the visit to Alabama was Biff Poggi saying he could not say whether his son is solidly committed.
There is no other explanation for the complete silence out of the Poggi camp than his college choice is very much up in the air, and they don't want to have a bunch of Michigan fans and writers driving them crazy up to signing day.
Their fanbase doesn't think he would greyshirt, they think he would accept a scholarship if one of Dee Liner or Eddie Vanderdoes or whatever other top recruit goes elsewhere.
EDIT: Or not. Perhaps there is no available spot either way.

Biff Poggi has a strict policy of not commenting on the details of Henry's recruiting. He's never commented on the record about any specifics regarding status, when he's choosing, etc. That part, in and of itself, means nothing regarding his status. I more worry about Henry's silence. But one could also argue that the Poggi's have never been very media friendly and keep to themselves, and maybe they're just feed up with everything right now and feel that no one has a buisness knowing every detail besides themselves and the coaches of the team he plans on signing with. The UM coaches usually have a good feel for a prospects thoughts and status, and to the UM coaches, they feel that Poggi's college choice is anything but 'up in the air.' That's why if he does choose Bama, the Poggi's have been very good liars to the UM staff.
It was an extremely glowing interview Biff did with a Bama writer the Monday after his trip that did a lot ot spark Alabama hopes.
Also, the coaching staff may just realize that is far too late in the game to add a kid that they would want in this class, so they aren't pushing the issue.
Not trying to be a downer, just being objective. Michigan fans are ignoring a lot of evidence and basically just relying on the word of writers that have already said that the Poggi's aren't telling them anything.
I understand Biff gave a really good review of Bama, but hopefully it doesn't mean anything for Henry. It's also not the first time Biff's talked glowingly about the SEC. He gave an interview with ESPN after Maryland decided to join the B1G and said he expects all the good talent in the region to go to the SEC next year.
I also don't think it's too late to feel out another DT if they felt Poggi was not solid (they could easily take a run at Gibbs and probably get a flip). I'm not sure how to reconcile the two sides of the story. You got Bama guys saying Poggi is just waiting for a scholly to open up, and then you have all the UM insiders who say the UM coaching staff does not believe there is any wavering after conversations before and after going to Alabama. The coaching staff usually has pretty good idea of this kind of stuff (like they knew the Conely decommit was coming, could sense Dawson coming, etc.). And keep in mind as far as the Bama reporters go, the Poggi's haven't commented that they're waiting for a scholly to open up either (at least as far as I know). That's also speculation at this point.
Again .... someone seems to be misleading someone in this situation, either the writers are being misled, those involved with the recruit, AL, MI, etc. Someone knows the truth .... and those individuals are not speaking about it. Why? Where there is smoke .... there is fire. What degree of the flame is another matter.
I honestly could see AL offering a greyshirt to him. AL is arrogant, and would bank on him enrolling due to Poggi potentially being enthralled with the program. In the end, Poggi would need to decide if this is the route he wants to take in college. Start as a greyshirt .... work your way into a starting position - on a very deep team, or start at Michigan. IMO both will get you to a title game in the next 4 years. Both will get you to the NFL. Only one will get you early playing time. If you were that important to AL, you would not be getting a greyshirt. Think about it. I would suspect he is worth more.

OB has confirmed that A'Shawn Robinson has informed the Texas coaches in an in-home visit that he will sign with Alabama on Wednesday.
I think this probably ends all Poggi speculation.
Not necessarily; there's a decent chance Robinson plays offensive line at Alabama.
